My 89 year old mom has always been so self reliant and was hesitant when we first starting talking about her moving. \n\nI visited a few places but felt that Middlewoods would be the best fit for mom. I wanted to see if she thought so too. So I brought her for a visit with me. Right from the start, she loved it! The space and staff are warm and welcoming. It's not too big and it's always so clean. I've come to know the staff members there and they are competent, helpful and friendly. \n\nMom has her own bright room with spacious bathroom. She has made many friends and is always busy with activities and exercise class! She celebrates her 91st birthday in a couple weeks and she thanks me often for \"finding her such a wonderful place to live.\" \n\nI rest easy every night knowing she is safe, happy and cared for very well at Middlewoods of Newington. Our buildings are fully equipped with elevators and locked entrances with intercoms, as well as gas forced-air heat with central air conditioning. Common areas include an exercise facility, library/media center, community center, garden plots, beauty salon, and more!</p> <p>Enjoy catered dinners, sports activities, classes and seminars, card games, and a variety of social events. Our comprehensive activities program includes exercise classes six mornings a week, live musical entertainment, arts and crafts, as well as cultural, intellectual, spiritual, and wellness events.</p> <p>It is important that assisted living residents are well taken care of, with necessary services tailored to them. We offer on-site geriatric physician, psychiatrist, and podiatrist services among other medical service options. Personal services options can also be individualized according to your needs. We’re also a pet-friendly community, pending your pet assessment.</p> <h3>Living Options</h3> <p>We offer single-story living options with 60 studio, deluxe, and one-bedroom floor plans. Apartments include appliances, a balcony or patio, heated underground parking with an outdoor car wash, additional storage, and in-unit washer/dryer connections. We also offer conveniently located laundry rooms. Units are also equipped with personal climate control and emergency call systems to notify staff of any time-sensitive needs. Middlewoods can also provide housekeeping, laundry services, and regular maintenance.</p>
