Welcome to Marilyn Manor! We are a secluded desert community located in a quiet residential neighborhood in Scottsdale, Arizona. With great weather and warm temperatures year round, Marilyn Manor is a great place to kick back and relax and bask in the sun. The small size of our operation allows us to focus on the unique needs of our individual residents and provides plenty of opportunities for personalized, one-on-one care. It also offers a great chance for residents to bond with one another and make lifelong friendships. If the idea of a larger senior community feels too impersonal, give us a visit! Marilyn Manor will be a perfect fit.

Our Community

Marilyn Manor is situated in a secluded, suburban area of Scottsdale, far enough removed from the faster pace of Phoenix to feel tranquil, but still within close proximity to grocery stores and shopping centers. Our single-story building can be easily traversed by individuals in wheelchairs or those with limited mobility. The grounds are welcoming and offer plenty of opportunities for social interaction, from our outdoor patio to our cozy living room. Marylin Manor is a secured community, meaning residents are supervised and their safety is ensured.

Living Arrangements

Our living quarters are designed for accessibility – they are located at ground level providing easy maneuverability for wheelchairs, and some units feature wheelchair-accessible showers, as well. Private baths are also an option if desired. Dogs and cats are allowed in private rooms so feel free to bring your pet along to your new home. We offer free parking to residents who drive, so you won’t have to worry about finding a parking space.

Activities

Residents at Marilyn Manor are more than welcome to join in our regularly-scheduled activities, which are designed to promote both physical and mental well-being. We also encourage our residents to accompany us on trips and excursions to fun destinations in the surrounding area.

Dining

Meals are provided to Marilyn Manor’s residents throughout the day, and can accommodate specific dietary needs such as vegetarian fares or Kosher options.

Personal Services

Marilyn Manor provides beauty treatments on-site so you can pamper yourself without ever having to leave. Residents have access to our transportation service at a reasonable cost when needed, but we are also located near public transportation options for convenient quick trips into town.

Religious Services

Select on-site devotional services are offered so residents can practice or worship in the convenience of our community. The surrounding neighborhood is also home to a number of houses of worship of different denominations.

On-site Medical Care

The trained staff members of Marilyn Manor are awake and available 24 hours a day to assist you or your loved ones with any urgent needs that arise. We provide assistance with transfers, aiding residents in sitting-to-standing or vice versa. Our community is not licensed to dispense medication, however we are able to monitor residents in their self-medicating efforts. Staff are able to assist residents with insulin monitoring, feeding tube management, and catheter and colostomy care. We provide hospice services and also offer respite care - a short-term stay at our community - perfect for those recovering from a hospital visit, the interim during which a caregiver takes an extended vacation, or simply to experience a senior living trial period.

Visiting Medical Care

We are in regular contact with visiting medical professionals, including doctors and nurses who are able to administer injections, provide consultation, and respond to any urgent medical needs. Marilyn Manor also receives visits from a speech therapist, as well as a podiatrist, ensuring that residents are healthy, fit, and mobile, and able to maintain skills needed for daily living.

Memory Care

Marilyn Manor employs staff members specially trained to oversee individuals with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or lack of awareness issues, and are able to appropriately de-escalate any exit-seeking or wandering behaviors. Our community is secured and supervised, ensuring everyones’ needs are met and that no one is neglected.

The Surrounding Neighborhood

Scottsdale is a suburb of the Phoenix metropolitan area, located just outside the Tonto National Forest. The area enjoys approximately 300 sunny days per year and temperatures rarely drop below 50 degrees. For a change of pace, the glitz and glamor of Phoenix is just a short distance away, providing easy access to plenty of opportunities for shopping, cultural outings, or professional sports games. Phoenix is also home to countless highly-rated medical facilities, including a branch of the renowned Mayo Clinic. • Sad for my Dad

This is a very poor place for your loved one. Staff was overly tired and short-tempered outside of visiting hours... as witnessed when my family showed up unannounced. The husband and wife caregivers live on sight and have very strict visiting hours (10am-4pm). Even when my Dad was approaching death, I was unable to stay with him at night or until 10am in the morning. Not ideal situation by any means. Residents who can sit up in their wheelchairs are placed around the dining table for the entire day that I was able to observe. Very sad. Would not wish this environment on anyone.

  • Not recommended

This is a very sub-par, overpriced group home. Staff are overly fatigued due 2 people (husband and wife who live on property) working 24/7 days per week. Frequently short tempered with helpless residents. They have strict visiting hours, denying family members time with their loved ones during precious moments as they approach their end of life.

  • A good tour!

When I toured Marilyn Manor, the person that took us around was welcoming and informative. They were able to answer any questions about the home and give us good information. The facility was in good shape, but what we did not like was the fact that there was nothing set in writing as far as pricing. The price was different on their website as the price they actually told me when I arrived, I was shocked. Other than that, it was a god you but not what we were looking for.
