Landing at Watermere - Frisco review

Our loved one was only be able to stay for about a week and everyone seemed to really be helpful, friendly and professional. However, their response times sometimes were slow and occasionally it seemed like no one really checked on our loved one. We know she was there for a short time so we are unsure if maybe they just didn't have her routine down for what.

Our experience

I would just tell others to beware of the salesman, I have had great luck with the assistant director, but the other salesman have not been responsive to us.

Beautiful facility, professional staff, residents are visibly engaged and enthusiastic which is the strongest indicator for me of operational excellence. Considering as a top choice depending on how the situtation develops with my parents.

Love living at the Landing

It has been a pleasure to reside at the Landing. You have an excellent staff and therapy partner. I will always be extremely grateful for their skill level ad kindness. Your workers around the place are very good and understanding.

Experience at Landing at Watermere - Frisco

The Landings at Watermere – Frisco was a great place for Dad for about a year and a half. After multiple changes in Executive Directors, the consistent turn-over of caregivers, it became clear to our family that our father was not receiving the care he signed up for. COVID-19 did not help matters, thankfully we installed a camera in the room to oversee his care. Unfortunately, we witnessed a drastic drop in the level of care he received. We witnessed a clear mistreatment of our father by two caregivers. Management only “reprimanded” them and allegedly reported the incident to Texas Health and Human Service so they could investigate the matter. We have yet to be interviewed by anybody. Unfortunately, those two caregivers are still employed. Within three weeks of the incident, we moved our father out of Watermere and into a facility that will give him the care he needs and deserves. Until Watermere stabilizes their management and personnel, truly implements a new philosophy, and holds their caregivers accountable for their work, I would not recommend placing your loved ones at Watermere.

Be Aware

I was very excited when we moved my mom in 1.5 years ago -- it was very new, clean, bright, upbeat. My mom had some complaints, but nothing out of the ordinary, food, etc. Then we moved my mom to Memory Care in February, then Covid hit and then everything changed. My mom passed on [date removed] I was finally allowed to see her on the [date removed] when "death was eminent." What I found was very disturbing. I had 24/7 care for her, but that was for her comfort, not to do the job we were paying the staff to do. I walked in and the air conditioning unit had broken at some point, it was fixed but there was a large rust stain running down the wall. There was blood on the walls and floorboards probably from where my mom fell the week before, along with other substances which I can only guess were bodily secretions.. My mom had multiple falls after fracturing her pelvis, and I bet that she was trying to get up and clean. After not seeing my mom for over 3 months, having to sit with her while she went to be with the Lord, looking at the disturbingly unsanitary conditions just made me even more sad for her -- we spent a lot of money here -- and I know that Covid was hard on all of us, but still, these are our loved ones and needed to be treated as such.

Review of The Landing at Watermere

The staff here went above and beyond in assisting us to move out parents here into the assisted side from the independent side. Dad was in the hospital, and would only be discharged into the assisted side. One of the staff gave my dad a virtual tour of the assisted side so that he could take part in choosing what room to move into. After we moved them , he went in and out of the hospital five more times and received excellent care from the staff here each time he came and went. They do a great job here, and they genuinely care about the residents here.

DO NOT LET YOUR LOVED ONES LIVE HERE!!!! THE ONE thing you expect from assisted living is that your grandmother/parent will get their medicines at the correct dose. After my uncle leaving 3 messages for the nurse staff to explain why they STOPPED giving my Grandmother her required Coumadin for a WEEK. STILL no reply at all after three weeks of additional expenses and Now a hematoma. Their management, processes and procedures NEED to be changed. Dont be fooled by the swanky decor the quality is only a facade to cover up the many issues. One Pissed Off Son & Granddaughter Edited [date removed]: The manager has reached out to My Uncle to take accountability and try and resolve the issue. This does speak to the willingness of management to make right and hopefully keep this incident from happing in the future with any other member of the community. [date removed] Update: After my grandmother spent weeks in a hospital and then a rehab facility the management has decided to change their story and take back accountability for them missing A WHOLE WEEKS worth of medication. My grandmother still (months later) has a HUGE hematoma due to them not giving her her medication. This could have been fetal!!!! PLEASE DO NOT LET YOUR LOVED ONES LIVE HERE!!!!!!!

One Pissed Son

THE ONE thing you expect from assisted living is that your parent will get their medicines at the correct dose. They FAILED and stopped giving my Mom her absolutely required Coumadin for a week. After leaving 3 messages for the nurse staff to explain why the STOPPED giving my Mom her required Coumadin for a WEEK. STILL no reply at all. Since then we have incurred three weeks of additional expenses and Now a hematoma which has put her in the hospital. Their management, processes and procedures NEED to be changed. Dont be fooled by the swanky decor the quality is only a facade to cover up the many issues. $5500 a month should buy Care not just pretty sitting areas. One Pissed Off Son.

Watermere Realities

As a long time resident, the place is over priced, over sold and poorly operated. It continues to have problems with the overall building quality (replaced the entire roof in the last three months), have constant elevator operational problems and external door problems. It also continues to not be responsive in completing repair service requests. In a recent building lightning strike scenario, Watermere took too long to get the inside areas (fire door, elevators, etc) back and operational. does not support the basic features offered. It is perceived that management and many of the staff do not follow the standard 'Know Your Customers'! Yes, the tours and promotional events make it 'look good', but once settled in, many residents have 'An Awakening' as to reality.
