We picked because of the friendliness, and cleanliness of the community. The people are good. I would recommend to other famlies.
Lake Howard Heights, you see community-wide dedication as soon as you walk through the doors. Kind and attentive staff offer best-in-class care, apartment-style homes are convenient and stylish, finished with a fresh, mid-century modern design, and a rich calendar of events offer residents the vibrant and active lifestyle they’ve been searching for. Plus, nestled between Tampa and Orlando, the surrounding town of Winter Haven is home to many pristine lakes, a world-class collection of vintage aircrafts, and the largest Legoland in the entire world!
Allowing seniors more time to enjoy retirement doing the things they love, highly-trained staff members take care of the housekeeping and laundry. They also offer complimentary 24/7 concierge service and chauffeured transportation to scheduled activities off property. Staff also manage residents’ medications and provide specialized care for those with ambulatory, incontinence, or memory care needs.
The community puts tremendous effort in creating a supportive environment where residents feel confident in leading active, social lifestyles. Their dining program is second to none, with restaurant-style seating so residents can dine on delicious, chef-prepared meals among friends. Common areas are also modern and spacious, offering even more room to connect with each other. Cozy up together for...

They've been good overall. I've had no real problems except with the food. It seems like they don't care what they serve. Sometimes it's burnt. Often it's inedible. Also, quite often the treat us like little children instead of adults. But they have good activities. And from what I've heard about all the rest of them, this place is pretty good.

We had a great tour experience with Lake Howard Heights. The facility was very clean and the staff were all kind and friendly. The reason we did not choose this facility was because it is not set up for memory care, there is no locked unit. If you need memory care it is not the place, but otherwise it looked to be a very nice facility.
Everyone is really nice at Lake Howard Height & it's a nice facility.

I toured Lake Howard Heights and they were very friendly. The person who showed us around was willing to do almost anything to accommodate me. The apartment they had available was setup like a studio and there was no door to separate the living room from the bedroom, and they offered to put a door up for me! Ultimately I needed more space for things I had in storage. I chose another community because I was able to get a bigger apartment.
my loved one is doing well so far at Lake Howard Heights. the quality of the building is great, it's uniquely polished. it seems like they've gone above and beyond to make it feel and look modern. I really like their approach to the people who live there. they try to connect light personalities to similar people, and so forth. they don't just clump everyone together with hopes that they will figure it out. they really go the extra mile to put those with similar personalities together. they also have a good amount of weekly entertainment, which allows sociability. they try to get the residents to connect with one another, rather than the employees doing most of the interacting. they make it to where you are meant to find a true connection with others vs sitting in a room all day. it's not all medical, physical therapy or occupational therapy - they try to make you feel at home. usually in group settings, it seems almost "too" medical. most communities are ran by the employees and they expect the people to follow suit. at Lake Howard, they create a sense of community so that you feel like your own person. I also like how they present dinner. there are cloth dinner napkins at every meal and the meals themselves are very unique. there's a great dietitian on site who provides good nutrition. they have better cooking than most families.

Good community, too far from family.
I was very impressed with this community.
Well organized tour, and yet relaxed. The staff are extremely happy in this organization (you could hear it in the lobby and hallways) - not surprised so many have worked there for long periods of time. The building is quiet and yet there were organized activities (no lost-looking residents). The studio suites were very nice. The decor of the building was fantastic. Screen room & tv room seemed a bit small for the size of the building. Costs are reasonable.

If you need independent living there is no medical care like in assisted living. The rooms were small but there were other options with the room sizes. I would recommend this facility to others, they seemed to have a good covid plan in place

Visited this property to look for an alternative living place for my 90 YO Mother. The facility is beautiful, clean, smells good, and [name removed] (Advisor) is very friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, as Mom declines this facility will quickly become too expensive and they do not accept Medicaid, (which may be why the facility was so lovely.) It is very reasonable, as Assisted Living goes, but they need more wheelchair specific rooms, in my opinion. The "start up fees" were kinda like an apartment rental deposit - $2000 and $800 for the electric wheelchair because of the repair/damage they cause. I don't have a comparison, but it is an expense I wasn't aware of when we started price shopping. Overall a nice facility if you are looking for a place you wouldn't hesitate to leave a loved one.

[name removed] was very helpful and patient as we investigated Lake Howard Heights. She provided us with all the necessary information for my mother to make her decision. When possible she was able to accomodate my mother's and my schedule to view the community. [name removed] enthusiasm and knowledge was appreciated. She was able to assist with references outside of Lake Howard Heights. She was also able to alleviate some of my mother's concerns as well as my reluctance for my mother to make this move at this time. We are anticipating the move in approximately 3 weeks and hope that goes as smoothly as the investigative process. [name removed] and the rest of the staff have also been very helpful. This is a strange new world for my family and everyone has been very helpful and encouraging.

Lake Howard Heights was above our expectations. It is like a 5 star hotel. The day we toured we had lunch and the food was the best I'd ever had. They have longevity of the staff, most have been there 12-25 years. They have a handyman/ concierge who is wonderful. [name removed] is the best she is so helpful to my uncle and has great communication with me. The whole staff is wonderful to deal with you never have to bring up an issue twice. I know he is being well cared for.

They are very proactive for the Covid virus.I would highly recommenced Lake Howard Heights. The food is good but it is not always hot, but they are working to improve and it has gotten better. My mom is in one bedroom and that works for her. The have a great location and the building has a Lake across the street, so great scenery.
