We chose Oakmont of Fullterton because of all of the above reason where I gave them a 5. The room sizes here are good size for what it is needed for. I do think they could have more communication with family members, maybe updates bi-weekly or something like that. But they are quick to answer and very responsive whenever I call. Not only did me and other relatives talk, but we've also talked to hospice and healthcare workers that come into Oakmont. It's a pretty good place; it has issues, but then as the healthcare workers say, "We've seen a lot of facilities and this place is okay, it's nice." It's pricey and it does have its issues, but the staff and management are addressing those issues and trying to correct them, which I like a lot.

We put our mom at Oakmont of Fullerton in [date removed]. Our first complaint was she did not get her clothes back from laundry. Always someone else's clothes. Second they did not help her shower. She needed help in turning on the shower and she could shower herself. I would have to do that when I visited her weekly. Then in [date removed], she was violently attacked by a resident there. A large man hit our 4'11"mom in the back of the head and when she fell to the ground he kicked her in her back and fractured her vertebrae. He was removed by the police and she had to be taken to the hospital. They showed no regard for her care when she was brought back from the hospital and did not give her pain meds The management can care less about your family there. Management did not even know my mom was brought back from the hospital and laying in her room crying. My mom was in memory care. There was no excuse for them not checking on her when she got back from hospital. Managers need to be replaced.
You need to really be invloved, to ensure that your loved one is taken care of. There were issues with the trasition of staff, including the Executive Director leaving. The food menus look okay. Paying more money than before. It was different going in during COVID.

Oakmont of Fullerton is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL facility. It was new and up to date and the grounds were so pretty. The staff were all great and did a good job with their follow up after our tour. Unfortunately it was extremely expensive. If the price would have been lower I would have loved to had my dad here. In fact I would move in here today myself if I could it was that nice.
They said we would have fine dining moved in early March had a fine dining meal yet. You never get a straight answer or standard answer yes that’s corporate we can’t do anything do you think by now that is being a brand new facility that’s better but it’s not my recommendation look elsewhere it’s not worth the money

Response from Oakmont of Fullerton
August 19, 2021During our community meeting yesterday, the resident feedback was very positive about the food since our new Chef has started. I’m sorry to hear that you are still unsatisfied. I would like to speak with you more about this, please visit me in my office or call me at your convenience. I can be reached at 714-869-1940 and I look forward to hearing from you.
Excellent place to stay when you reach the age. Good activities and food.
Has been very nice experience for us. People are all friendly and helpful.
Happy to live here.
Coming here was the worst mistake I have made. The staff are told to rush and often times we are ignored. My daughter is getting me out and I am blessed to be able to leave. We tried working with the coordinator of care but she is as phony as they come. It was all lies from the start. A dear care manager who recently resigned let me know that that the coordinator brought certain employees from another home and apparently they were all fired or forced to leave due to their terrible attitude. I hope this place gets new management soon.
