My mom loves Copperfield Estates. She is happy there. The cons have been the food and not as much promised entertainment that was originally discussed. The Activities Director position is replaced every year, and it seems that they can't keep this position fulfilled. They have had live entertainment twice since my loved one has been in the community. The main activity they have is bingo and now some residents are calling bingo for other residents. They were supposed to have live entertainment, arts and crafts, and games. The menu is given weekly to the residents for them to choose and a lot of the choices have been changed on the residents several times a week. For example for lunch it would be a chicken sandwich and it ends up a hot dog. The residents are burnt out on the same food being served several times in a week. The activities and food options have been disappointing as the promises that were made are not being fulfilled.
I think the apartments are nice. They seem to be sufficiently sized. I wish there was a small stove or something so my loved one could cook some things for herself. But I understand why they don't have those, perhaps due to risk. I like that someone comes in and cleans the apartment once a week - that has been a positive. The one real negative is the staff are not very visible or available. If I have a question or seek them out, they do respond. But they don't seem up and actively involved in the community - they just kind of stay in their offices.
Promises were made and not fulfilled. Clean apartment on move in. Request to fix items in the apartment. The food is very poor and residents wait 45 minutes to receive it. Operations is not responsive to complaints but the request feels shunned.

The community has met all of my expectations. The staff interaction has been good with the family. They have music events and more for the residents to participate in for activities. It is a good value for your money. This is a great affordable place.
Nice but my loved one preferred a newer facility. At the time the person that took us on the tour was very professional and very helpful.
The community didn’t work for us. We have already moved out of the community. They were okay, it just has to be the right fit for your loved one. They ended up closing the dining room and this sent my loved one over the edge. Everything was having to be in my loved one’s room, such as three meals a day. My loved one needed the social interaction.
We picked this community because it was close to family and they have good floor plans. They are currently renovating the kitchen so the food should improve when they are finished. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.
There are not a whole lot of improvements this community needs to make. They are redoing the kitchen so they can open back up after from being closed due to the pandemic. The residents seem to be very well taken care of, and we are happy with our decisions.
My loved one didn't enjoy the community during the pandemic. However, it is the best value for your money.

The community is very good. It has gone down a lot since the pandemic. It is well kept. We have a nice dining room, all the residents would meet in there for meals. I am hoping we can meet back to be able to communicate with other residents. The property is very nice.

Great activities, friendly staff, very attentive.
I have no complaints about this community. Everyone is very helpful and answers all your questions when asked.
I moved here for the social activities, good prepared food in the dining room, and weekly house cleaning. Every reason has gone away. No social activities, dining room has gone away along with the food quality. Meals are now delivered to apartments and a lot of fried food, rice and potatoes at one meal. Only sandwiches at night, no healthy options. House cleaning is now only every two weeks, if then. By the way my rent has gone up, not down!

I have lived in Copperfield Estates for 1 year. Formerly I lived at [name removed] in Corpus Christi, Texas for 12 years. I enjoyed living here. I have several relatives in Houston. Copperfield is a friendly place to be. Food is good and their are many activities. Office staff members are always ready when needed.
They take very good care of me!!
