We chose Highpointe because of the cost, it was a set cost and did not change so we were able to budget and plan. We are allowed to go visit my dad and they can talk through the glass or outside with a mask, so they have been good. They have been very cautious and forthcoming on the very few cases they have had and did a very good job at keeping residents safe. They have all been vaccinated so we are happy about that. My dad does not like the food here, he said it does not have much taste at all. It is hard because I have never been able to go inside the facility, but I would recommend to others looking.... We had a virtual tour at HighPointe. From what we could see, it looked good. The downside with them was cost.
HighPointe is a beautiful facility and the tour was great, but it was just too big for my loved one who likes to wander.

Hello, thank you so much for the great review of HighPointe Assisted Living and Memory Care. We are disappointed to hear we did not meet your loved one's needs exactly. If there is anything we can do please feel free to get in contact with us.
We toured Highpointe and is was a very nice facility in a busy location. The move in fee was a little high at the time that we were looking. They had elevators here and I was looking for a facility that was all one story, so we decided against this one.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us about HighPointe Assisted Living and Memory Care. We are happy you enjoyed the tour, and we hope you found the community that fits all your needs. Have a great day!
We toured long before Covid and then took quite some time to make our decision. HighPointe would have been the most ideal location as far as proximity to where we live. We toured the assisited and independent living sections only, and the facility for those was okay. As I did some more research, I read some very bad reviews of their memory care facility, which we knew our loved one would likely need eventually. And my wife has a close friend whose child worked in the kitchen there and knew of incidences of Covid among the employees.

We do really like the activities they offer, and the rooms at this community are bright and sunny. However the only drawback with the rooms is they should have some without carpet, because it is hard with wheel chairs. The food is filling and overall pretty good.

Thank you for the four-star review on HighPointe Assisted Living and Memory Care!
This was my first Assisted Living tour. I am looking for placement for my parents. I was VERY impressed with this facility. Very clean, updated, cheery and friendly. Fireplaces added warmth. Staff were all friendly and greeted residents by name. It smelled like a brand new home. [Name removed] was informative, helpful and professional. Both my sister and I were quite pleased with HighPointe. As nurses who have a high standard this is a great review!!!!

Thank you for the great review of HighPointe Assisted Living and Memory Care.
Very bad experience with Mother-in-Law in "Memory Care". That's in quotes "" because they are NOT trained to give proper Memory Care/Alzheimer's help, they want you to be understanding and professional but they are NOT. MiL lived there for 5 years. When she became incontinent, the staff called me 4x/week saying "uh, she pooped on the floor again, you need to help us here! uh I'm having to clean this up again. She needs you. You need to help us here!" That's what we pay you $5k-$6k then $7k/month for !!! We found a better, more reasonable place that SPECIALIZES in dementia/Altzheimer's and i gave HighPointe notice on 3 different occassions that we were moving here out on 9/28. Well, guess what? on 10/2 they took a $7k payment for October out of her checking account! They say "well, you never gave us a WRITTEN notice!" We've been fair and understanding with them but they don't respond in a similar fashion. Stay away from HighPointe for Memory Care - it's NOT good and it's VERY expensive.
Mother in law was there for 5 years in Memory Care. Staff on that locked-down 2nd floor were minimally trained. Often called me late at night with "Uh, you MiL needs you." as she's in the background "Help me, come get me, help me". They couldn't handle simple diversion. This place is VERY pricey - when Mom became incontinent her monthly fee went from $5k to over $7k !!!! Then the kicker - we gave notice 3 differnt times that we were moving her out. Moved her out on [date removed] and they dinged her checking account for $7k for OCTOBER! they said "well, you didn't give us WRITTEN notice". Uh - they've been giving medications and etc for the last 5 months withOUT a signed Care Plan (by me) NO signature, no comment of "we have to stop until we get a WRITTEN signature from you". They essentially STOLE the $7k from my MiL. We've been very fair and understanding with them for 5 years (that's approx $360,000 we've paid) and what do they do? Stick us for $7k saying "it wasnt a WRITTEN notice!!!!!!" How sad. How greedy. How UNprofessional! RUN, don't walk AWAY from HighPointe Denver!
What extraordinary service!! [name removed] has made our transition so easy. So many questions answered and so many suggestions to make the move easily. The nurses at Memory Care are great and our mom is happy in her new home.
Clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and a lot of residents were in the common areas socializing.

Hello, we're happy to hear you had such a positive experience with our team! If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out!
The community is very nice, fairly new. Toured it twice for a family member. I felt like it was a really intense sales pitch. Pricing for care levels increases by about $500 per care level. So one of the most expensive communities for care levels we have toured. By the time you add up the base rate/rent for a room and a higher care level - it is priced a lot more than similar communities in the area. The smallest studios are very small - barely fitting a twin bed, a tall dresser and maybe an occasional chair. The larger the room - the more costly and very high rate increases for the more square footage. The activities seem ok and the outside garden areas are nice. Knowing how quickly the monthly care level rate could increase and not being guaranteed a care level lock in rate for 3-6 months would be main reason we wouldn't choose HighPointe.
My mother in law has been a resident at High Pointe since it opened. Our family has witnessed wonderful care for her over the years. The staff is friendly and very caring and very patient. The range of activities and therapies has been such a help to us. Everything she needs is right there in one place. If my mother in law didn't like something, believe me, we would hear about it! Thank you so much to the staff for taking such great care of our family gem!

Finding the right senior community for your loved one can be a real challenge. After experiencing several other communities in the metro Denver area, I am so pleased we found HighPointe Assisted Living for my father. From the moment you enter the lovely reception area you are greeted by a genuinely happy and caring staff. The management team is exceptional, and they are actively involved in the care of each resident. When others are caring for your family, prompt and consistent communication is critical. The quality of communication we receive from both the HighPointe staff and management has been wonderful. There are a variety of daily planned activities and the Residents Club is an outstanding option to help keep your family member active and engaged. From the well-appointed apartments with lovely common areas and excellent dining to the thoughtful, hands-on care provided by the staff and management, HighPointe has proven to be the right choice for my father and our family.

Hi, thank you so much for your positive comments about HighPointe Assisted Living & Memory Care! We are glad we could provide your father with such great care. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if there's anything more we can do.
We moved my mother to High Pointe in June, at first we thought it was a great move. She quickly went down hill, they had her meds wrong even though the care providers thought something was suspicious. They were not able to meet her memory care needs. At first we were told by John that we might have to move her to memory care, but something to look at later on down the road (during the same meeting he confided in us that the place was run poorly but they were trying to fix that). Just a couple days later, they called us in a panic that we needed to move her to memory care asap and we needed a 24x7 nurse until we could get her in. We moved her in, but she barely lasted a day. By the morning she had become so irate that she actually broke open the 2nd story window and was trying to jump! Let me just repeat that, a frail 75 year old woman broke open their window and tried to jump! At that point we had her moved up to a hospital in the Springs, and that's when the communication really broke down. The hospital told us that High Pointe wasn't accepting her back, and I was trying to contact the office manager to figure out her final bill. They never returned my calls. We secured another facility, and when we moved her out, they told us they had never rejected her, just that they were planning to go up over the next weekend to evaluate her. Well they never told us that, or anyone at the facility in the Springs. Don't mind the plan, but when the hospital is discharging her, we needed to know that. We moved her out, I asked for a final bill. Nothing, no response, no returning of phone calls, even went in once. They called us in October to notify us we had an outstanding balance, but had never sent an invoice, nothing. Bottom line, the place is nice, but it's a façade. They really weren't a memory care facility that could handle my Mom. Wish they would have told us up front, that in some cases they aren't equipped to handle difficult memory care cases, but they took us on a two month painful roller coaster that costs us money and time. If your loved one has memory care concerns, I would find a facility that is equipped. Instead of them calling us in a panic to come help, the new facility lets us know she was having issues. Instead of letting Mom get out of hand, they are trained to de-escalate situations and redirect them. I get it, Mom is a tough case, but be warned, this place will not be able to cope.
We were in this community for a short time. We did not like the staff who were not pleasant. The staff gave my father the incorrect medication. The community was clean, but they need to keep up on cleaning more often. They staff do not communicate very well. The menu was appealing and more variety. They do have a lot of activities for the residents. We could not recommend this community to other families at this time.

My dad and his wife are doing fine there. My dad isn't happy being there but that was to be expected. The community is nice very clean and well maintained. The food is excellent. They offer activities and social hours which my dads wife goes too and my dad chooses not to. The reason why my dad's wife chose this place over the other one we toured was the fact there is a laundry hook up in the apartment and there is a tub.
I am happy with knowing that my mom is in a good community with good care. We like the staff who are caring and friendly. My mom likes the nice menu with the good variety of healthy foods. They have activities for the residents that want to participate. We would recommend this community for the care of a loved one
