For those that have loved ones who like to remain active and are able to do so, I'd like to see more options. Also, be very patient the first months while you are getting to know who to talk to on the staff, at least until the first inevitable kinks are worked out. Overall, the experience has been as good as I think it could be, at least, my brother and I think so. You can feel free to use my first name. Thanks for asking!... Read more

Response from HeartFields at Frederick
June 12, 2023Thank you for sharing your feedback on your experience at HeartFields Assisted Living at Frederick. We appreciate your suggestion for our Lifestyle360 team as we are always open to offer new programs that interest our residents. We understand that familiarizing oneself with a new setting can take time, and we apologize for any initial challenges you may have faced. We're glad to hear that overall your experience has been very positive, as we value your input.
HeartFields has been great, we have had a great experience so far. Our loved one recently went to the hospital for some health concerns and HeartField has gotten him back to feeding himself. The staff members are extremely friendly and we are very pleased with the care services. The community is clean, it is just a very good place. Every community is expensive, but the value here is much more reasonable.

Response from HeartFields at Frederick
July 20, 2021Thanks for your feedback Judy. It is great to read that your loved one has bounced back after their hospital stay. We very much appreciate your kind words for our team and their part in helping him when he returned to the community. We're glad to know you see great value at HeartFields, and that you've been pleased with your overall experience.
Anita is a gem! Very friendly and provided me and my sister with lots of valuable information that will help us on our search. However, we felt it was not the place for our Mom. Although the rooms were nice, we both felt is was not the ideal place for our Mom. HeartFields Assisted Living would be ideal for so many looking for a homey feel, great facility and friendly staff. We just felt it wasn’t the one for our mom’s needs at this time.

[name removed] was a gem! Very friendly and provided me and my sister with lots of valuable information that will help us on our search. However, we felt it was not the place for our Mom. Although the rooms were nice, we felt our mom would see this facility as more of an upscale nursing facility.

Residents were kept waiting over 45 minutes for breakfast and they were not using the time to socialize - rather they complained about the lateness of service and the quality of food. I actually witnessed a staff member being disrespectful to a resident. Make sure your parent (resident) is healthy. Nursing is poor at this facility if a problem arises. Doctor is never seen. Staff not educated as to tell when there is a medical issue - not just an elderly person complaining. Heard staff tell residents they were too busy to meet their needs and would come back later. Never did.. Residents, who would often be better served in a managed care facility, are taken as customers at this Heartfields. This is wrong.Understaffed. Expensive and not worth the price.

We are concerned over the exposure to Route 26 traffic noise, but it was hard to assess since there was a crew working just off the highway cutting trees or whatever, making noise. Cost was fairly high compared to most of the others. We both liked the intimate setting and low population -- individual acre should be quite good. Room layouts and size were very good. Room size not bad, but we're not sure how companion living would work. It appeared like it was not particularly suitable for walks.

Met with director. Nice facility all on one level. Further away from hospital, doctors, dialysis. Not as many services provided as Tranquility. Lower community fee, but higher monthly fee.

A Place for Mom has scored HeartFields at Frederick 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
