I would highly recommend Falls River Villages. The care is excellent, the staff are loving and supportive. There are plenty of varied activities to keep patients interested and involved. The thing that most attracted me to Falls Village initially was the warmth and sincerity of staff and this held true during my sister in law's entire stay!

I would highly recommend Falls River Villages. The care is excellent, the staff are loving and supportive. There are plenty of varied activities to keep patients interested and involved. Refreshing improvement over previous locations.
Communicating between staff and shifts could be a little better. Yes we would recommend this community to other families, but they have let go of two Director level staff and we are waiting to see if new staff will affect things, positive or negative.

A good way to deal with an unpleasant reality
All those with whom I had interacted were professional, caring, competent folks. They responded to all questions and requests promptly. When my sister's health declined they were communicating with me and medical providers appropriately.

We toured Falls River Villages when searching for an Assisted Living facility for our loved one. The facility and tour were okay. The cleanliness and friendliness seemed okay. However, I just knew it wasn't the right fit for my loved one. We decided to continue with our search.

A type of place I didn't wnt to go to....but love!!
I am so surprised that I love the people at Falls River. Everyone from the top to the residents. I love some of the activities! I get too tired when there's something all day long, but I participate as much as I can!

My Tour Experience at Falls River Villages
Everyone took a lot of time and care to answer questions, show us around, make sure we felt heard/understood. The challenge with Falls River Villages is that they provide no transportation. My father is a dialysis patient and needs to go 3x/week.

Our Experience
The meals and dining are just not good, definitely need improvement overall.
On the organization in the dining room and the availability of food really is the problem the most.
I think they do an excellent job with laundry, never had a facility do such a great job with this service.
The other thing I would say would like to see improve would be something similar to a community newsletter that goes out to family on current events.

Most staff do not care about residents or their family
My father was a resident here from [dates removed] Unfortunately as a result of an incident with another resident he was pushed down and received severe head trauma. He passed in February. We hold no ill will toward the other resident but the response of the facility after the incident and since then has been atrocious. After my father was taken away by EMS they never followed up to ask how he was, and repeated follow ups to obtain refunds for money already paid have been met with mostly silence. We have also since learned from family members of other residents that they have allowed residents of the Memory Care Unit to escape the facility on multiple occasions without notifying the family. While my father was a resident the overall care by the staff and responsiveness to our family was almost nonexistent. Anytime that we visited they acted like we were a burden whenever we had questions about my father‘s well-being. I would never recommend this facility to anyone.

a very safe place for your loved one
The staff members are very friendly, caring and respectful. The care services kind of vary depending on the aids that day. We think the food looks great but our loved one says otherwise, she complains about it but also can't remember they have different options if you don't like something. She doesn't always participate in the activities but ones she does go to she really enjoys.

My Review of Falls River
Overall, I am pleased with the community. The size is nice, the caregivers are very kind and that means a lot.
The food is very bland according to my loved one. They have cornhole, field trips drives, sing alongs, indoor garden, games, and more activities for the residents to choose from.
We have had to remind the staff several times that our loved one can't be left alone in their wheelchair. This is something that has been repeatedly asked and told to the staff, and it happened earlier this week again.

Falls River Court (Memory Care)
I would not recommend Falls River Court. From the moment we moved my Dad there ([date removed]) we were disappointed. My Dad walked with a walker before he arrived there. He was put in a wheelchair at arrival and kept in one until we moved him out [date removed]. He did have PT while there but we were told he was at baseline and they couldn't help him any further. The Director of Nursing (not longer with FRC) was a fan of sedation. If you keep the residents sedated and in wheelchairs they are less a "problem". We were told that my Dad was agitated a lot. They wanted to keep him medicated.
Many times there is not enough staff to be able to care for the residents safely. On Christmas Day evening there was one med tech for 36 residents. This happened frequently.
We have since moved my Dad to a smaller residential home. He is one of 6 residents. He has been taken off most of the medication that he was on while at FRC. We've been told numerous times that he is always happy and has not been agitated one time. We are so thankful to God for helping us to find the new place and would highly recommend it to anyone.
While there are several staff members at FRC that are kind and loving to the residents it just wasn't / isn't a good place for Dad.

Smaller place with a good floor plan. What they consider to be a one bedroom is actually a large studio, so a one bedroom is actually what they call a 2 bedroom (460 sq ft) and is quite high-priced compared to others in the same area. Home-like feeling with smaller resident population.

Watch your loved one’s closely
This facility was previously owned by Alterra. An employee dragged my mother in law to her bed (she had Alzheimer’s). Broke her hip and my MIL died within the year. We were not given access to police records until we hired an attorney. Which is how we found out what happened. Before we could sue, Alterra filed BK and the facility was reincarnated as Falls River Village.

Not a secure facility
This is not a very secure facility as they don't keep a close watch on the residents. Residents can easily walk outside and away without anyone ever noticing and this happens frequently.
They fail to take responsibility for their lack of actions and their lack of staff to fully keep an eye on staff members. Instead they attempt to put the blame else where such as the resident.
They are also more concerned with getting as much money as possible and will over assess a resident actual status just so they get more money.
The biggest complain residence have is the food and how slow serving of the food takes.

My tour
The person that took us on tour was nice. They offer transportation and an enclosed courtyard. I was not impressed with this community when I visited. There was an odor when I walked into the community. I did not think this community would work for my loved one.
