My moms new home

This is a really good community and my mom has been very pleased. My loved ones only complaint is about the renovations. The activities are nice and my mom likes bingo and the piano. She feels the food is hit and miss and some is good and other meals are not so much.
My Review of Elmcroft of Murfreesboro
Cheryl - Toured community
This was our second choice. The community was friendly and helpful. It is an older and smaller community. I was impressed by the residents at the community, and the community having a water cart for the residents.
The only downfall is that it is too far to visit for us.
My review of Elmcroft of Murfreesboro (Eclipse Senior Living)
anonymous - Child of resident/client
We were very unhappy with our experience, it was poorly ran and they did not have anything to do with the people that were in assisted living. Those residents would just sit and watch TV, there was no stimulation or engagement. Our loved one moved in being able to walk, and when we took our loved one out their heath had declined. We believe they were short staffed at the time and it was just hard to get a hold of anyone there.

I toured Elmcroft of Murfreesboro in [date removed]. The staff I observed seemed caring, and the residents appeared content. Elmcroft's memory care area looks to be the oldest and darkest part of their facility, though I was told that the facility will be refurbished soon. Their memory care rates, however, seem to reflect the older condition of the facility, and are lower than other rates at nearby memory care facilities. The common gathering/eating area in the memory care area seemed particularly cramped. I only viewed a shared room in the memory care unit, and the blinds were closed at the time. The private rooms I viewed in the assisted living area were quite nice and had adequate space. [name removed], Elmcroft's Sales Director, was particularly helpful, spent a long time answering my questions, and followed up with me by email. Elmcroft has a psychiatric nurse practitioner who visits once a week. The caregiver to resident ratio appears typical for other memory care facilities, usually 2 caregivers for 12-15 residents.
A great place - I never felt like I had to worry

If I needed to go to an assisted living place, I would go here. It was very nice. The dining room and the whole layout was very nice. The staff was very caring. If I ever had any concerns, all I had to do was speak to someone and they would take care of it immediately. The food was excellent. There was so much variety on the menu, and my loved ones enjoyed the country style food. If they didn't feel like coming to the dining room, Elmcroft would bring them their food in the room. They made a special effort to not have the same thing over and over again where you would get tired of it. I tried one of the desserts and had to get the recipe for it because it was so good. It was not just your typical plain cake. It was like they were cooking for a family. They had activities going on all the time. My loved one particularly enjoyed bingo. They also had sing-alongs at the piano, and Mardi Gras Day, and they went out of their way to celebrate all of the holidays. The activities director was so sweet. I appreciated that I never felt like I had to worry. I knew my loved ones were safe and well cared for here.
Wouldn't Recommend, Stay Away L B - Child of resident/client
We moved our loved one from this community recently due to the lack of services. I wouldn't advise anyone to go here. Most of the Office staff that was there when we started are gone, overall not enough staffing anymore. No one to provide information in a timely manner to the families.
Great place for your parents RLW - Child of resident/client
The staff is amazing. They act like this is not a job and they go the extra mile to take good care of the residence. I would recommend this community to others
Our experience with Elmcroft anonymous - Loved one of resident/client
This review is specific to the memory care area of the facility. They do have a lot of caring and helpful staff members who work here. I think the activities director does a really good job for assisted living but not as well for memory care. They advertise restaurant style food, and in assisted living you do sit and tables and get served but I do not think I ever saw fresh food. The choices were very very limited. Then in memory care it has been even worse, the kitchenette where they were preparing the food was not good and it was shut down. Now food is being brought in a heating cart and is not good. The physical facility itself is also not well maintained. If you can afford it, I would recommend going someplace else.
My Review A. R. - Loved one of resident/client
I would encourage others to shop around.
My loved one was in memory care unit at Elmcroft. The memory care community is too small in my opinion. On average they only had 8 or 9 residents in this part of the community. There were times that during the day they would only have one direct staff member to take care of these 8 or 9 residents.
The food was good.
Great Place Michelle - Loved one of resident/client
The staff is very helpful. We looked at a lot of places and Elmcroft is very cost-effective. They offer a lot of help with getting started with VA benefits. My mom has dementia, The way it is laid out it is in a square so there aren't a bunch of hallways where you can get lost. They have an outdoor garden in the back.

I was greeted warmly. facility was clean for the most part fresh. did not meet or see any of the nursing staff.
Poor food choices
Concerned loved one - Loved one of resident/client
The recent changes to the menu are not acceptable. Raw cucumbers, onions, raw peppers, raw spinach, and spicy foods are not comforting to sick or elderly residents. A return to the previous menu is advised. It is requested that residents returning from a hospital have some choice other than spicy or raw foods. It seems unfair to pay for food that is not eaten, and chicken tenders tend to be "not so good" after a number of times. Please consider a change back to the good Southern cooking on your previous menus.

Very nice, our second choice L B - Toured community
We toured this facility while we were looking into care options for our loved one. We were very impressed by what we saw here, and this facility was our second choice. It was a nice looking place, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. This facility was older than the one we ended up selecting, and had a slightly more "institutional" feel, but overall it was still a very nice place.
