Be very cautious with medications and this community. Medications were not given correctly to my loved one and some were left over. There was none left over on the others. Be very cautious with giving them instructions because they did not follow instructions. My loved one overate and they did not place restrictions as advised. He was also not supposed to watch t.v. and he did this all day. I voiced my concerns about all of this and no one ever got back to me. The staff were wonderful in the beginning and we spoke about everything and we were all on the same page. Once he went in everything completely changed.
we toured this community and it was very nice. The staff was very friendly and I enjoyed speaking to them
I would tell others we have been most satisfied with everything here. My loved one's health has vastly improved since being at Elmcroft of Hagerstown. Charades, bingo, holiday celebrations, monthly country themes, and more are available each month for the residents. They have a monthly newsletter as well for the residents. They take photos of the residents participating in the activities and send to family members.
We had a virtual tour during Covid. The facility looked nice, and everybody I spoke with was very nice and informative. It was hard not being there in person, but they did the best the could with the situation at the time.
The people there have been extremely cooperative, we have had no problems with them being willing to help our family with issues. The food is about average, it is not as good as cooking at home. It is not the best but not bad either. For the most part we would recommend this facility, they do seem to try and keep the residents moving with activities. The personnel is very cooperative, our loved one has had some issues with a few nurses but we can't blame them we know they were very hard and long hours. The head nurse is very cooperative as well.
I really liked the director there. She was just so personable and so helpful. The downside for us was the fact that they only had studios there, and no apartments. My loved one had just downsized from a house, so I didn't want to downsize her any further. But I was impressed with what I saw of the facility.
Elmcroft of Hagerstown was a great facility. The staff were very helpful and kept in contact with me. At the time we toured it was during covid, so we had what was called a porch visit where we sat outside with the sales representative. She was very informative and it was professional but also relaxed and comfortable.
Everyone has been very nice, and for Easter we were able to sit on the porch and have a couple window visits with our loved one. She says she is happy there and everyone has been nice to her. The food is good, they great three meals a day and for every holiday they have a special celebration. The activities are still pretty limited but they do have bingo which she really enjoys. the Elmcroft also has a good homey feeling to it and the value is reasonable.
It's a great community, it is important to make sure if your paying for additional care that your loved one is getting that care. I would recommend this community to others, the community is well kept.
The staff are very helpful and nice. They really took the time to get to know my sister and her unique needs. They are so patient with her. The manager is very hands-on, always there, very pleasant, and always smiling. I was very impressed with activities director. She goes out of her way to find things of interest for each resident. The staff have also been wonderful with me. They have been patient, helpful, answer all of my questions, offer insight, and have been very supportive. They are also able to keep the prices within reason and have been able to work within my sister's budget. When I was looking at communities, I was looking for three things : for her to feel safe, loved, and protected. I have found Elmcroft to meet all of these needs for my sister.
The Executive Director, [name removed], was a wealth of information and perspectives. Unfortunately, the common area for the memory care unit was very small and there was really only the one space for them to gather. On a positive note, they are doing some upgrades and renovations to the Memory Care wing which are needed and will greatly improve its appearance.
It was a very nice place. I spoke with several residence and they all love it there. However they do not take insurance of any kind for room and board. the price starts at $3500.
12 hours ago My Mom, who suffers from dimentia, moved into the memory care unit at Broadmore two months ago. She is amazingly well cared for. I pop in unexpectedly and she is always bathed, dressed and interacting with caregivers and other residents. When she was at home, she wanted to sleep the days away. The first day I went here to check it out(without an appointment) [Name removed], who is in charge of marketing, approached me with an awesome greeting and took me on a tour of the entire place explaining everything and was very welcoming, along with the rest of the staff. The other places I went just smiled, handed me a packet and sent me on my way. My mother was initially very resistant about going into ANY facility. Now, when I take her out to eat or for another activity, she is anxious to get back and when we pull in the parking lot she says "we're home I like it here". [Name removed], the executive director, is kind and caring and very hands on with everything. [Name removed], a knowledgeable RN, is the wellness director and is also kind and caring and always available for consultations. All the caregivers are sweet and work themselves extremely hard to provide care and respect to the residents. I highly recommend this facility and feel as though they try to provide a family atmosphere and keep the residents active and involved. I honestly think my mother's state of mind and condition have improved in the short time she's been there.
My Mother moved into Broadmore 2 months ago...she has dementia and was not eating correctly or taking her medications properly. The adjustment from being in her home to moving to assisted living was challenging. She doesn’t take change well. The transition began before moving and she was able to see her new environment a couple times. There were no surprises for her because everything was planned ahead of time. Prior to moving in and being part of the Broadmore family has been made so much easier because all the staff and I truly mean EVERYONE is absolutely special and supportive with helping her and my many questions! I have not regretted my choice of picking Broadmore for someone that I love!
Not as nice as [removed]. Dark and depressing. People friendly but not as knowledgeable. Rooms did not include kitchenette.
Visited Broadmore on June 27,2018. General Manager gave us a tour and talked with us for about an hour. He was very thorough. the rooms were nice size and everything looked clean. Until you actually move a family member in, it is hard to give a rating. Based on what we saw it was very nice.
Been under investigation by state for giving wrong medications etc. Many problems here not recommended we are moving our family member out asap
Facility under investigation lots of problems, I'd suggest not trying here. Moving our parents out asap
Facility horribly understaffed. My dad heater/ac unit doesn't work, been asking for months they never fix it. Employee there told me they have 5 new units in storage but was told not to give my dad a new working one. They keep messing up his meds. Call me asking to refill them 6 weeks early cause they don't know why they are almost gone. Very scary. Would move him but they require a $1500.00 non refundable fee when moved in and can't afford to move him out. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY!
This is an excellent facility with lovely rooms and suites, good food served dining room style three meals a day, and excellent nursing services. The Staff are warm and friendly and the residents are all well looked after. Good value for money. Watch the evaluations and price increases after your loved one becomes s resident. Every request carries a point system, which translates into an increase in fees charged.
