Highly recommend

We chose Discovery Point because I felt that the all inclusive pay was really good. You get 2 meals, utilities, house keeping once a week, etc. The director [name removed] is really on top of her game The apartment sizes are great. We have had no complaints and would recommend to others looking.

Tour of Discovery Point

I toured Discovery Point and it was a very nice facility. The drawback was that it is strictly independent living, so should you require more care you would have to find a new place to live with more assistance.

Thank you for your review! We so appreciate your feedback and agree that this is a nice community. You are correct that we specialize in Independent Living, but I would like to point out that we partner with Doves At Home Senior Care. They provide discounted non-medical services such as shower and dressing assistance, medication management, and a great many more services that can assist our residents in maintaining their independence. Thanks again for your time and the lovely review.

My Review of Discovery Point

The only downfall was the price for us. We enjoyed the community and it was nice.

My tour experience

After touring Discovery Point, I found it very limited, and it felt kind of incomplete. It was an older building that didn’t seem to be as well kept. They didn’t offer near the amenities as the place that I ended up selecting.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I am surprised to hear that your impression was that our building isn't well kept since we have done a lot of updating including but not limited to, all new flooring throughout, interior and exterior paint for the entire building, a new roof, all new common area furniture including our gorgeous Dining Room, remodeling of our front entrance, all new back patio and pool furniture, installed misters at our gazebo, parking lot resurfacing, updated our Billiard's Room, and more. If you have specific feedback in other areas that we can improve, I would honestly love to hear it. We are always looking for ways to do better. Please email me at [removed]. Thanks again for your review as feedback can be very helpful to us and to others.

my review of Discovery Point Retirement Community

We toured this community and the tour was good. I have a pet and there was no patio area so it didn't fit our needs.

I would say to check back after oppressive pandemic rule. The community hasn't handled the rules well and not communicating well with the residents. I know that some residents have spoken up. They have had cases of COVID. I believe they should be communicating what type of residents they are taking into the community. From what I've heard is that the community is taking at risk (semi-supervised) people, and they don't have the nursing staff. The food service has improved over time.

Highly Recommended

I would recommend checking this community out for your loved ones. This community has almost everything you may want or need. The food is pretty good and they are doing the best that can. Shopping excursions, bingo, and exercise classes are some of the activities still offered at Discovery Point during the pandemic.

A nice place to live

I would recommend this community to anyone who is looking. I did quite a bit of searching and I was working with a limited budget. The places that I looked at were so much more expensive and Discovery Point was the most affordable I could find and I liked it. This community is so well keep and clean. This are on top of it immediately when things come up. The food is quite good and they offer variety.

This is a very nice campus. [Name removed] had another commitment so she could not give me as much time as she would have like to. The campus is well kept and they offer a fair amount of activities and 1 - 2 outings a day. The have religious services for catholic, protestant and LDS members. They are way on the east side of Mesa. I talked to one resident and she really loved it there. It is perhaps the least expensive place to stay.

[Name removed] showed me around Discovery point. [Name removed] was very thorough and helpful. This is a very nice community and met many people and was able to see a 1 bedroom and two bedroom. Unfortunately no washer and dryer in your apt. but they do have two on each floor whatever apt. you choose.

The facilities were extremely nice. The bedroom shown was room and functional. Did not care for assigned seating in the dining area and the Non-refundable $1000.00 fee for waiting list placement. The $1000.00 fee is applied to your mandatory move-in fee, but the fact it's non-refundable to get on the wait list without a guaranteed move in date is a no go for me.

[Name removed] was fantastic as was the entire facility. However, when we saw the rooms we felt they were just too small for two people.

Happy Seniors

After 8 months of residency at Discovery Point we are very happy about the decision we made to move here. They staff is very caring and work very hard. Good meals and many special events to participate in. Life is easier here allowing us to do the activities we want with more ease. Our apartment is our cozy home now. No muss..no fuss..time for us!

Independent living only. No medicos standing by. Some health services available ala carta. Fairly clean and nice.

We like that this property is all inclusive, including breakfast and dinner. Most of the property is indoors so our loved one won't have to go outside in the heat to get to a meal or activity. The buildings and apartments are well maintained. There are lots of different areas for a variety of activities. Additional assistance is available at a reasonable price in 15 minute increments. The dining area is very nice! There is a group of residents who try the foods and rate meals to make sure the menu is to their liking. We like the different religious services and activities as well as activities like happy hour. Very well rounded! It sounds like the residents really enjoy themselves. This community is for those who value their privacy. The staff doesn't check in with residents however there are still safety precautions in place. It's independent living only, which keeps the cost down. This place will be hard to beat, especially for the price.
