Brookdale has been a great fit for my mom. It has been especially challenging during the pandemic, but they have done a good job of helping my mom settle in and helping me to feel comfortable that she is being taken care of.

Brookdale Concord is our favorite of all the facilities we've visited thus far. [name removed] is very caring and ensures that the residents get the best care and maintain a light-hearted atmosphere. We really like the ambassador program where a current resident volunteers to take a new resident under their wing.

The price is good (most reasonable for the area), but I did not like the resident to staff ratio (20:1), and I saw like 5-8 caregivers sitting in an area on their phones as I went to the restroom on my way out. Like with such a high ratio (though legal), I was just concerned about Mom needing help and people sitting around.

I really liked this facility. The atmosphere is very energetic. There are a lot of activities available. I feel it would be a great fit for my mom to help her stay active throughout the day. The staff is friendly and warm.

I found this facility to be fairly clean, there were a lot of activities offered, the menu offered the residents varies of choices. The staff was very accommodating,knowledgeable and courteous. Overall, I was fairly impressed and would possibly consider this facility for my loved one.

I would only 50/50 recommend this branch
I would only 50/50 recommend this branch. All together the facility is very pleasant, very clean, and very comfortable. The common rooms have nice furniture and the food is ok. My loved on is not a fussy eater but he does raise his nose with a couple of meals that they provide. Generally speaking it is quite ok. Regarding their staff they are all very pleasant but not very efficient with their follow through. Whenever there is a question you usually have to ask it twice. They have had problems with their executive director position. One person was in charge and she left very suddenly. They were left with no one at all except the previous guy that held the position that came in a couple of days a week. They just recently appointed someone this week I believe and he hasn’t introduced himself to the spouses and the families yet. Its little things like that and everyone slightly passes the buck. From the nursing staff point of view there is a bit of a problem. They have agency nurses coming in and we have our own private doctor that would look after my loved one. That agency tries to get you to change doctors to a doctor at their agency. I found that a nurse was extremely aggressive. My loved one had an issue with his leg and the nurse was very aggressive and self-righteous with how she should treat the issue. My loved one is happy enough here and the facility has quite a pleasant atmosphere with a nice smell. I think in many assisted care places there would be a bad odor from people having involuntary accidents but you would not be aware of that here. If you are a local person I would recommend this location. However if you’re someone who doesn’t have someone to check up on your often I would not recommend it. All together, management is not well settled.

Started Really Good Ended Really Badly
When we first placed my mom here she was doing really well. Mom tends to keep to herself she likes to read and watch tv but she was talking to the other residents at meals and she enjoyed that. Then my mom's health took an unexpected turn and I had found her in very bad shape. The staff and housekeeping did nothing at all to help her and when I got there I knew I needed to take her to the hospital and I never brought her back here. I am so disappointed in the lack of help when my mom was in need of it. They let her sit in a filthy bathroom not able to help herself.

No Memory Care Unit
I toured this community and it was very lovely. We felt that in a very short amount of time my mom would need memory care and this particular community does not offer that. The staff that we met was very nice and friendly and the community was clean and well kept. I would recommend it if you are looking for assisted living

Really Lovely Place
Mom is doing really well here. The environment seems lively and the residents seem happy there. Mom doesn't participate in physical activities however she will go out and talk to the other residents or sit and listen to the live music they have.
She seems to like the food no complaints. We toured a few communities but the main reason she chose this one is due to the spacious area it is easy for to walk around safely.

Good choice
My mother was only there for 30 days and didn't require a lot of care so I can't really comment much on quality of care. The rooms are very nice. They are spacious, clean and in good shape. My mother's tv didn't work for the first 4 or 5 days, but they adjusted the bill to compensate for that. She said the food was "pretty decent". The employees were very nice and friendly. The few times I needed to reach someone after hours, it was very difficult to get in touch with anyone. It would be nice if family were given a number for that purpose other than the main business line. It would need to be a number that goes directly to the med-techs' phones. No one is manning the main business line so you get in a vicious cycle of being asked to select an extension, being directed to that extension and it going to someone's voicemail that isn't even there or being bounced back into the queue again. I didn't try leaving a voicemail message in the general mailbox because I needed someone right away. I just kept hanging up and re-dialing until someone finally heard it and was able to get to it before it went to voicemail. The "issues" were few and relatively minor. We've had experience with a lot of different rehab and assisted living centers. This is definitely one of the better ones. My dad was also here about a year ago. Our experience that time was the reason we selected this facility for our mother this time. I would recommend them.

This community is in a good location
The staff are very gracious and are always good at receiving input. They are always good at answering our questions. The activities coordinator is good and she encourages the residents to participate in the activities. I have eaten here the chef and the food are good. They bring drinks to mom when she needs them. The community is clean. We liked that the people are down to earth and I would recommend this community.

Physical therapy and a good community make all the difference!
My mother-in-law lived in another community and we decided to move her to Brookdale Concord Parkway. Before moving in she was not eating by herself and using a wheelchair. They started her in physical therapy and she is now feeding herself, using a walker and going to exercise classes lifting weights! We saw the two different extremes a community can make. She is very involved in everything Brookdale Concord Parkway has to offer and goes to half of the activities each day.She was actually singing karaoke and dancing on Saturday!I would recommend this community!

Attentive!
The Brookdale Parkway was a good community. It all came down to distance. The place is clean and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I had to choose between this one and the Concord south and the only reason I went with them for Mom was because although they are equidistant from my home, Concord South is less than a mile from my daughter.

Lovely Dining Experience
My husband had a wonderful experience here at this community. He was here for a respite stay, and everything well. They did a great job caring for him and his needs. He really enjoyed the dining experience, the meals are very nice. If needed I would move him to this community permanently. I would recommend this community, it is a nice place.

So far so good
Finding a place for my Mom has been an ordeal. It is an emotional and financial experience that I would not wish on my worst enemy! Brookdale Concord Parkway was the one of 4 places I researched, that was close enough to my home to ensure that I could visit her on a daily basis. I needed long term care for my Mom who was currently in rehab. Their assessment of my Mom was the most understanding and versatile of all the places I researched. They were/are willing to give Mom 30 days before making any changes that would effect the cost of her care. Mom has been there almost 30 days and except for a few bumps in the road, things are getting more consistent and routine which is the atmosphere I want for my 88 year old Mother. Mom is beginning to get involved in the activities and her care is adequate. We are working on a few care issues and the staff seems to be willing to work with us. My Mom has extreme hearing loss, has some balance issues, and is incontinent, but her mind is pretty sharp for her age. Communication with her can be difficult at times. The Staff is learning how to deal with her and she is learning how to deal with them. She has been in her own home with minimal help until she had a TIA and fell several times. So far things are working out and they are providing a safe environment for her to still be able to have a few friends and enjoy a few things in her life. She is no longer a prisoner in her own home.

Review of Brookdale Concord Parkway - Concord, NC
When researching an assisted living residence for my Mom I visited Brookdale. Initial reaction was that it was more of a resort rather than assisted living. It smelled good residents were very active and I met a resident who had been there for five years and was very happy to be there. It definitely was a consideration for my Mom
