Response from Commonwealth Senior Living at Gloucester House
March 15, 2023Thank you for taking the time to share your kind words. We're so glad to hear you had a great experience with our community. Improving the lives of seniors, their families, and our associates is central to everything we do, so we truly value your feedback.
We wish that we'd gotten mom here sooner. It was a wonderful experience and so much better for her than her previous facility was. Everyone was always friendly here. The nurses were great about checking on mom. They were always interactive and smiling. My siblings and I were really really pleased with the care that mom got here. They offered a good variety of activities, cleanliness was great, just an overall wonderful place. Communication with the family was really good. When mom passed, they called right away and handled things very well. We knew her time was near and this place was great for her. We really do wish we'd found it sooner and even talked about that after her passing. I have and will continue to recommend them to friends and family.

November 22, 2022Dear Kimberly, We are so sorry for your loss. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Choosing the right support for a loved one is a decision no family takes lightly, and we’re honored you entrusted us with the care of your mom. Please know our door is always open should we be able to assist your family in any way. Sincerely, Deirdre Lund Executive Director
Kind of chaotic, staff was not really caring and helpful with pricing. I sent an email and they could not give me an amount back in response and that seemed weird to me.
Not only has the friendliness of the staff members impressed us, but even on the tour the residents were coming up to us, and was telling us how well they are being taken care of and just how much they enjoy it here. That was very impressive.

Response from Commonwealth Senior Living at Gloucester House
February 10, 2022Dear Laverne, Thank you so much for sharing your community experience with families here! We know that choosing the right senior living community can be a challenging process, and we are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit! We find it is often helpful to connect with one of our current families to get their perspective of the community. Please let me know if we can make an introduction. Kind regards, Deirdre Lund Executive Director
There was an extreme lack of communication from the nurses and aides who were actually assisting my loved one. The administrative folks were very responsive. But as far as getting blood pressure readings, making sure medications were being administered, that bed linens were clean, and that my loved one had basic supplies, there was no communication from the people who were taking care of her. Which I didn't like at all. This very well could have been because of Covid. But because of Covid, I think communication should have been even better, as opposed to what I experienced. I understand that had I been able to go inside more and see for myself, my questions would have been easily answered. As it was, it was difficult to ask over the phone and then not get a call back. When we moved my loved one in and out, it was very nicely kept, and it didn't smell. I can't complain about any of that. She told me that the food was great. She was a dessert fan, so desserts evidently were really good. And they often had fresh fruit, which she enjoyed.

My ratings are based during the pandemic and what my loved one has told me. The communication skills are horrible. I have to call them for everything. I didn't get any email about the visitation options to see my loved one, after opening up.

I moved my husband to Gloucester House at the beginning of the year and after an adjustment for both of us, I couldn't be happier. They call me and keep me updated on changes, they recommend extra care needed and always run it by me first. They show love and care, laugh with him, and let me talk to him while I can't see him.

This community has an entire schedule that shows all the activities they offer for that week, and before COVID they would take the residents out to eat at different restaurants. The rooms they have there are very clean, nice and roomy. The food is great, and the chef is great.

The staff has gone out of their way to keep my mother safe during this COVID019 pandemic. They have tried very hard to keep things running as normal as possible in the Memory Care unit to keep the people that live there calm and safe while updating their concerns, also. They have done an outstanding job under a lot of pressure!

My mother was placed here during the Covid-19 pandemic. I have hot seen the inside of the facility to give a review. However, the staff has been wonderful in answering all questions and concerns.

Our experience here has been mostly wonderful. Improvements can be made by paying the staff a better salary so they will stay longer. More can be done for the moral of staff as well - rewards, encouragement, praise. During this pandemic, more should be done for the residents to safely socialize and get exercise.

This facility is by far the best in this area. Most of the staff and associates are professional and courteous to both the residents and their families. I feel comfortable having my husband there. I know he is getting very good care. The facility is always clean and the food the residents are served is excellent.

In my opinion, this facility is totally understaffed. My mother (resident) is a fall risk and has been left on the toilet for 30+ minutes because staff is spread so thin. The good and efficient CNAS want to do better but can only do so much. Covid has presented its own problems as residents have been confined to their rooms for extended periods of time including eating 3 meals alone day after day. My mother is mentally alert and sees these deficiencies too.

Do NOT place your loved one at this facility. My father’s last undocumented fall resulted in him no longer being able to walk, he has trouble speaking, and the staff who should have taken care of him and been attentive to his needs say what you want you to hear to your face and then work to cover up staff inadequacies on every level. My family and I have have filed a complaint with the state. My father was neglected which resulted in his demise, medication withholding which I have records and proof, medications “misplaced”.. this facility should and will be audited to the fullest extent and I pray that those caring for staff are fully reviewed, drug screened , and nursing leadership and some med tech REPLACED My father spent every dime of his retirement given this this facially to take care of him. My mission is to make sure that they are investigated so that no other resident ends up like my father. I have copious notes and photos which have been submitted to the state I am more than happy to discuss specifics with anyone considering lacing their lives one I the cottage, memory care Please call me I have documentation and photos
