A Nightmare in Elder Care

I would recommend you run the other way. There were statements made during the tour and these turned out to not be true. This was an awful experience for us. The staff are nice and way overworked.

My families experience

It was a couple rough few weeks in the beginning they were going through a change in management so some of the communication was slipping, but now everything is improving. The people working there now answer all of our questions quickly, any requests we have are followed up in a timely manner and they have all been very friendly.

Nice, But Still Some Issues

This is a nice place. There has been a large change of staff. They are super nice. With the staff change over this has caused disruptions in resolving billing issues. The food has been enjoyed by my loved one.

my review of Cedar Crest Lewisville

The community has wearable call buttons and also in the bathroom but they did not answer these calls. Showering and bathing was an issue and we struggled to get my loved one bathed. However, over the past few months, the community has changed all of the head staff and I feel that they are making a move in the right direction

This property is located in a quiet residential neighborhood which was appealing. It is a one story, beautifully renovated building with a large enclosed courtyard. It is a very active, social community with several residents out of there rooms or with their door open. This is so important to my mom after being isolated for over one year during COVID. I looked at both the Studio Deluxe as well as the one bedroom unit. The studio apartment has an odd layout for the TV connection (cable connection located in a corner cutout) but the residents solved this problem by mounting it in the corner wall. In addition, the kitchenette was small with little counter space but the staff encourages the residents to dine out of their apartments. The prices were very competitive and the services provided fit the desires and requirements of my mom.

Still a very good decision

My wife has been here for 2 years now. This facility, hospice firm, and the doctor's nurse communicate. Even the new Director, and staff still provide the care she needs.

Home Away from Home

They're awesome. They're very friendly, helpful, considerate, and communicative. Each time I went in there, every single person would listen, pay attention, and they were very calm and peaceful. I was very comfortable knowing that nobody there was aggravated or had that type of energy. You could tell that they were very hands on. It's a smaller community, so they know each resident very well. They know each person's individual needs and personalities, and how to deal with them individually. They provide us great feedback. Each time I would come over there, my loved one would stand at the reception area and wait for me. And while he waited, he would always stand there and chat with them. That told me that he was comfortable, and he was very social there. He felt comfortable participating in the activities. He was very adamant about the food in his search for a community, and he's been very happy with it at Cedar Crest. And I've been very happy with them overall.

Terrific Experience, Great Staff, Perfect for My Mom

I would recommend the community. They are doing a full remodel of the community, currently. The staff and friends of my mom's are so nice. The communication with the staff is good; however, it could be better. I think this might be due to the pandemic.

Explore How They Do the Billing

We were considering moving our loved one out of this community. They have overcharged and billing issues. The staff would tell my loved would be back and the staff wouldn't return. There were also medication issues.

Good experience for the money

We chose Cedar Crest because of the location, value for the money, and the services offered. They offer memory care which is what we needed. The staff members here are very friendly and the facility is very open door. It is a smaller facility so you will know everybody and staff know everyone by first name. Overall, it has been a good experience and I would recommend.

Our experience was not good

When we were here the facility name was Elmcroft. I would want others to know that we did not have a good experience. He was here 25 days, the 2nd day he feel and went to the ER then it happened again on the 4th day and he had to go to the ER again. I went to visit and I was the one who had to tell staff that he was dying, no one was coming to check on him. He starved to death and did not get any food. The supervisor of memory care the day we were moving him in was telling me that their staff was untrained and she needed to re-train them. I do not believe the staff knew what they were doing. They continued to bill you for 10 months after he had already passed away. I would not recommend the community.

As far as memory care, do not got here

This review is for memory care. Our loved one starved to death here and also fell twice. They did not take care of him as they should have. They billed us for 2 months after he passed away. I would never recommended them to anybody and we had a terrible experience here at Cedar Crest (Elmcroft).

Wonderful senior care for mom

My mom just entered Cedar Crest on Monday, so I really have not had a chance to fully evaluate yet. The management staff has been above and beyond! I needed a place quickly to help with mom whom I had picked up from a rehab facility. Unfortunately, she came out in much worse shape than when she was admitted. [name removed] worked night and day to get us admitted and has kept in very close contact. [name removed] conducted the interview with me and was completely thorough, assuring me and explaining issues and answering concerns throughout the process. Mom was very content to "return" to CC, as she had stayed there in respite care last December. At this time, I feel confident that she will be happy and well-cared for in the days to come. The only reason for the 4 stars in cleanliness is that I noticed a few tiny ants around her sink area. This should be resolved quickly. Thank you Cedar Crest for being there for mom, [name removed].

My wife gets the best care she has had in years. [name removed] is the BEST of the last three directors there. The staff is always helpful and are safe.
