I toured this facility and it was lovely! We really liked it. The Director was great. The grounds are beautiful.
The staff is wonderful, always checking in on my mom and seeing how she is doing. Tries to get her to go to the activities, but my mom can't sit too long. But they do Bingo and have singers come in which she does seem to like. She likes some of the food and some she doesn't. The housekeeping of her room we had a few issues. The housekeeper was sick so she wasn't cleaning the bathroom. There were stains around the toilet and she wasn't vacuuming. We did get that fixed after about 3-4 weeks of complaining. I go twice a week to help my mom shower. The housekeeper broke a part in the shower and it took 3 weeks for them to fix it. It seems like the manager of the maintenance department likes to talk more than work. But overall we like it and it has taken my mom a little longer to adjust.

Overall there are some improvements that they could make. For example they do not have many parking spots for the handicap, I think they need to add more spots because he has to park far away and he cannot walk well.

I toured Carriage Green and thought it was a nice place. we chose another community because it felt more homey.
This is not a place for a senior. We had such a bad experience here. The same day we moved my loved one in the same spot and the next day my loved one was still in the same spot and not clean. The community didn't listen to the special dietary restrictions that my loved one needed. The medication wasn't crushed up for my loved one, and when I requested this they proceeded to not crush them improperly.

Response from Carriage Green at Milford
February 26, 2022Thanks for your review, we are sorry to hear about the experience that you and your family had with us. We take all feedback seriously, and would like to learn more so that we can understand and improve. Can you please reach out to us at Carriage Green so that we can address your concerns?
We have had a few issues so far. My loved one had an incident where she went into congestive heart failure in her room. She never pushed the call button, but a family member just happened to stop by and see that she was in distress. That family member pressed the call button three times in half an hour with no response. That is unacceptable. Those call buttons should be top priority. She had to call the front desk to say there was an emergency, and our loved one ended up in the hospital for a few days. Also there was a Covid case, and my loved one called me to tell me they were giving her a Covid test. I never got anything official from Carriage Green. Her POA in our family never got anything from them either. So we emailed them to see what was going on. One of the staff said they had sent an email to me. But I never got it. They should have at least notified her POA right away. So there are problems with communication with them. They're not keeping us informed of what's going on, and I would like to see that improved. I do like their activities. My loved one is very pleased with those, and I like that they have a lot of things going on and that she's getting out and socializing. The food is good as well.

Mom has been at Carriage Green for three years and she is very happy. The staff is so friendly and warm and truly cares about their residents. The community is very cozy and always clean. The residents eat their meals in the dining room that looks into the courtyard. They have many activities including games, crafts, daily social hours, music, movies, etc. I live in another state and the staff always keeps me informed as to what is happening in the Community. I feel so confident that my Mom is being well taken care of. When we visit, we are always welcomed with friendly faces and they all feel like family! I highly recommend Carriage Green to care for your loved ones! With COVID, it has been a very difficult year for nursing homes and assisted living communities. The Carriage Green Team has followed all state protocols and has gone out of their way to keep our loved ones safe and healthy!

We chose Carriage Green because it was a very nice looking facility with a great atmosphere, the location was great, and it was reasonably priced. They do offer a lot of activities even during COVID, but my loved one does not participate in these. The best part about the community is the care that she receives. Overall, I would recommend this community.

I have been very impressed with the communication during these trying times of Covid-19. My Mom has been very happy with the friendliness of the staff and they have done a really good job communicating with me during this quarantine. I feel the could be a little more careful at limiting the size of the groups of residents getting together, and I feel they were a little late in closing down the community to visitors. The staff is very caring and care about the physical as well as the mental well being of the residents. They are working hard to find the right balance of interaction during this time of social distancing for their mental well being. The food is excellent especially when they are serving in the dining room. Now that they are bringing the food to the residents rooms there are not as many selections. Overall Carriage Green is doing very well during these try times of Covid-19

My mother is very happy there. Could use more help on weekends. Could use a little brightening up with paint and brighter carpet.

Carriage Green at Milford is a wonderful community. The level of care they provide is a medical model, versus a social model. This community is very clean and modest in their decor but their level of care is amazing. They are very accommodating to the care needs of my cousin. He is well looked after by the staff members. He enjoys the meals they provide here. They offer activities and entertainment and although he is not too interested in the activities my mom enjoyed playing Bingo with the residents when she came to visit him. I would definitely recommend the Carriage Green at Milford.

We are happy with the care and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. My mom is happy with the meals. My mom likes activities and meeting new people. She is planning to go on outings. It is a really great place, she is enjoying it and feels like she is home. The only issue is not having a stylist available more than once a week. I have to take my mom to a stylist outside the community. However, I would recommend them.

Carriage Green went all out for us to be able to move brother-in-law from the hospital directly to their place. He is now in a safe and caring environment. Gets delicious meals 3 times a day, daily exercise sessions and even a Sunday Mass. We are very thankful for the service and support offered by Carriage Green.

My mother-in-law lived there for five years. While she could take care of herself and get to meals on her own all was great. As she started to lose some cognitive ability the care really did not step in as it should have. They did not step up until she had had two falls, the second she never recovered from and had to go to a nursing home. During the five years, as time went on, more and more general managers were replaced. They seemed to be less about the residents and more about filling the rooms and profits. The tone of the place changed and became unfriendly. The management was very nasty to us when we told them she could not come back(after the fall) and did not answer phone calls, ignored us in the halls. We were able to manage moving out her things by the kindness of the staff there. We had to give notice by email (unanswered). I would not recommend sending your loved one there. I would look for some place where your loved one can age in place and where the management respects the family.
