They were great at communication. The staff were very sensitive and caring professionals. [Name removed], the head of administration, was phenomenal. The facility was extremely clean, and they were very efficient in the care they provided.
The biggest thing to me is how friendly everybody is. When we visit, they always call our loved one by name and ask her how she is. She likes everyone there. We're in constant contact with her nurse through text and phone call, which is very nice. They're all really helpful.
When a fire decimated my elderly clients' home and made them homeless, the executive and wellness director of Care One of Livingston worked diligently to facilitate their admission the very next day. It was remarkable how the Care One team opened their arms to make this move happen within such a short period of time. Care One of Livingston not only has caring and dedicated staff, but the decor is clean and inviting, the food is tasty and individually tailored to residents' preferences, the atmosphere is upbeat, and the caregivers are attentive and skilled. My clients were immediately welcomed and given a safe, friendly, beautiful place to heal from their trauma. I highly recommend Care One of Livingston to anyone looking for a high quality and accommodating senior residence. -Lisa Kolton, LCSW Co-Owner, Connections Care Management, LLC
I was not very impressed when I toured CareOne. When I walked in it was very loud and they had popular music from today blaring so that turned me off.
My mom didn't like pt the same exercise there pt personal need to prove new exercises routine
The entire community is immaculate. For a place that has to accommodate for so many people, it is extremely clean. In general, the staff and therapists are very friendly and helpful especially those at the front desk area. I do believe my father is being well taken care of here. They do a very nice variety of activities to engage the guests and to keep them involved. We do feel that Care One At Livingston is a good value for the price.
In one word AWFUL. Run far away from this facility. My parent was there years ago. The food was horrible. Taste was tasteless and it looked like diarrhea. We were talked into putting him into their dementia unit promising that he would have better care. He would call for assistance and have to wait sometimes over 30 minutes. Complaints go nowhere. The workers were overworked as CARE NONE did not have adequate staffing. I eventually had to contact the state ombudsman as it got so bad.
The staff are very helpful and friendly. The food is good with many choices.
The team here showed me around and was very knowledgeable about the industry. When the time comes I will be choosing this facility.
I love this place and all its staff. They are very helpful and the administrator is the best!!!
My dad moved in and has done so well there. The move in process was great! My dad has made new friends with staff and residents alike. We are happy we chose Care One Assisted Living in Livingston.
Just found out my Aunt is there..albeit temporary after a pnuemonia & wound infection bout. But the news I received yesterday is that she now has a open wound on her rear..after 2 weeks. She is 94 years old with one son.She lived alone, refuses to move with her son, out of state...But she did not have a decubitis when she left home or hospital! !Im very upset & heading there today, first time visit. I am a nurse & I personally referred her primary home caretaker who her family &I swear by.I also checked on her while at home. She had a small wound on her forearm, from scratching, taking off her lambskin, but it was healing after tx & physician office& visiting nurse wound care.If she has a catheter which Im hearing , along with her long term IV AB, then they are probably not turning her,not cleaning her well, not getting her up or nourishing her skin...We will see!!
My mother moved into this community in May of this year. She has adjusted wonderfully the communication has been great. The administrator [Name removed] is always available which means so much to us!
My wife moved into this facility and it has been god sent. She has early onset dementia and I could not keep her at home. It eases my mind she is safe and well taken care of there at CareOne. The staff has been so kind and amazing with us and her.
My mother moved in in May, and it has been a pleasant, very attentive staff and the move in process was great with [name removed]. Would highly recommend, my mother has found a second family with CareOne!
My father moved in after being at the rehab, we love the community! The renovated room is perfect, my Dad is so happy and loves the staff and residents. He is a social butterfly again!
First may I say, the name should be CareNone. My brother was swayed to put our father into Harmony Village as the rep explained that our father would get better care. If waiting more than 30 minutes to get to the bathroom is efficient, no wonder we needed to supply him with more depends. The food looked and tasted awful. Their family nights were a good idea in theory but horrible. Their physical therapists would walk into the residents room for a session. If the patient would say 'no' the PT would walk out of the room and bill medicare for a session. The speech therapist was impossible to deal with. She believes that she is better than the speech therapists from Morristown Medical Center. The director does not appreciate the family visiting all the time and noticing things that needed improvement. The workers did not have my father ready when he was to be picked up for some occasions. The director told me he was short on staff, but it was all right to charge more than $9000 monthly. My brother and I took my father out about 2 months of living at CareNone. We were forced to give a 30 day notice. My father was much happier at the next facility. He was not in a dementia unit and ate delicious chopped food that he loved.
My father was here for around a month. It was one of the worst experience we have ever gone through. He did very well from a heart valve surgery, but once here he had a sore that festered into a stage 4, two fist size to the bone bed sore!! Do not trust this place to care for your loved ones. He never made it to his hip surgeries, because he ended up not surviving all the infections acquired due to this sore. Care One relinquished all responsibility. I remember a doctor yelling at the nurses for something and at the time I did not know what. We found out!!
Pay attention to the fine print in the contract. When you are in a bind and need to find immediate care for a loved one you tend to gloss over the fine print. My mom went out to the hospital for 4 days in early October and then on to sub-acute care for the next 13 days before passing. When I received the final accounting I found out to my displeasure that CareOne continues to bill for general care medical supervision at 100 % for 3 days and at 50 % for another week despite being in a hospital and then in sub-acute care. They continued to bill for room and board for the first 5 days of November, despite her death on October 23. I was told that this was in the contract, but I guess I should have raised a stink back in 2015. But we were moving her from MA to NJ and needed a place that could handle her needs. We DO appreciate the care she got from wonderful nurses and aides. This is not a complaint about her care, simply the callous business practices of this corporation.
