We did a virtual tour with Brookdale Madison West. We did not choose this facility because they did not have any 2 bedroom apartments available at the time which is what we needed and the price was higher.
The community was going through a lot of changes and they have gone through a lot of turnover in management. The staff was sometimes impersonal, and we had an issue with theft. The nursing staff was good, but for the money, you are not getting what you pay for. I would not recommend this community unless there have been changes.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and are sorry to hear we did not meet all of your expectations. The care and safety of our residents is our top priority, and your concerns have been shared with our management team.
I would not recommend Brookdale. My mom wandered away from the building three times and they never told us. They found her in the parking lot. The staff was not checking in on her. The food was okay. The layout and room sizes were fine. There was a change in the staff and then things fell apart and it was at the expense of the residents.
Nice facility, but in my mom, who is wheelchair bound, has had to wait over 1 hour to be transferred from chair to toilet, bed to chair, etc. We have phoned corporate and been told they are working on it. On weekends, they think it's fine to have only 2 aid/attendant staff for a three floor, 75 resident building. There has been a complete turnover of administration since [date removed]. They knew since [date removed] they needed a new director, and now it's mid [date removed] and they only have a temp director. Even the head nurse has left. This is corporate senior health care. Make no mistake. Once you move your mom or dad into a nice looking facility, it's really hard to move them out, even if the care is bad.
Very nice, may be a bit pricier. Location is good.
Thank you for recommending Brookdale. It is a great place and the staff are great. I highly recommend this place. I want to say thank you to A place for Moms. I wish I could remember the lady who called me and set up the appointments for visits. She was the best. Keep up the great work. [Name removed]
I loved this place! [Name removed] was informative and kind and she knew the names of the guests, it was clean and attractive, there are many services that my dad would enjoy and benefit from, the studio apartment I was shown is perfect, and this is very near my home so it would be easy to visit. This is our first choice, hands down. I just hope the studio [name removed] showed me is still available when my dad is ready to move in.
Beautiful and clean facility. Very thorough tour given. Definitely worth a look for senior living and assisted living care. Nice area as well.
Memory Care Room , bathroom not cleaned for weeks. Laundry not done per contract. Food service is late and not good. I think they feel that people be with dementia and Alzheimer's can't tell so it is not important. You pay premium money and get really poor service. It is sad..
Before I was told I needed to move to Assisted Living I had researched a number of facilities. However I had not been able to visit Brookdale West until I actually needed a facility. My son,daughter-in-law and I visited another facility and Brookdale West at that time. The facility, the friendliness, and the activities at Brookdale Westmade our decision fairly easy.
I am extremely happy with Brookdale, Madison West. The staff is warm, caring and friendly. Mom loves her apartment - and so do I. I can honestly say that I am sleeping better because my mom is doing better. She is happier - and much healthier at Brookdale. I know that she can age in place there. I have to say - also that although my mom has Alzheimer's she is really quite connected to the world. I'm telling you this because mom would not have transitioned well into a 'single large room' - CBRF. Mom has a one bedroom apartment - which suits her wonderfully. The staff at Brookdale West in Madison helped mom and I make the choice of an apartment - but also helped me understand the finances and the level of care mom would do best with. Adjustments have been made as needed. Really - if you love your mom or dad - you cannot do better than Brookdale Madison West.
My parents have lived at Brookdale for 6 months, and we are all extremely happy with this beautiful residence. Within the first few days, all the employees knew their names, and they had many opportunities to meet other residents. They enjoy the many activities and outings and also the beautiful spaces within Brookdale. But the best part about Brookdale are the people who work there. From the front desk, to the nurses, to the aides, kitchen employees, and everyone else, including the director and most especially the activities directors, we love them all. We highly recommend looking into Brookdale if you have a loved one who is in need of assisted living. We are so very glad we did!
Facility and care options looked great. Honestly it was a little too nice for what my mother was looking for.
Beautiful building interior rooms are bright and clean. Improvement needs, to be addressed with the food. We need to feed our seniors better. Unappealing, and below par for such a large company. Hoping this improves.
I had a thorough and pleasant tour this weekend at Brookdale. All my questions were answered. I think Brookdale would be a great place for my dad and would meet his needs!
My mother has moved into Brookdale Madison West. To me, the item that stood out the most about Brookdale is the fact that the community is always very clean. There is no trace of the odor that some of these places can have. The meals here are excellent, and always complete and nutritious. There are activities here for the residents to participate in, but my mother usually doesn’t choose to take part. Overall, I feel my mother is safe and is well taken care of. I would recommend Brookdale to others.
Mom is currently in the assisted living area of this community. They do offer a memory care unit called crossroads that she may have to transfer to. Crossroads will allow her to get more individualized care. They have a calendar of daily activities. The staff is genuinely kind and this has been wonderful. They have good well balanced meals and a bar with snacks available all day. I would recommend this community.
This did not look like an active community when I visited. We did not see a lot of the residents out of their rooms. This community did still have a lot of openings when we visited. The people we met were nice and the community looked clean. This community just did not seem like the right fit for my loved one.
I have no complaints about the tour I had taken of this community for my loved one. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to answer any questions we had for them in detail. I liked the open floor plan they had as well as some of the great amenities they had for the residents. It was just not the right fit for my mom in the end decision.
Everything went fine at this facility! My one complaint is that there is not enough one on one attention on the weekends in particular, as the weekend staff is very small, but this was the first option on my list, and I am very pleased!
