Current 1st choice Really loved the person giving tour. Nice large hallways. Nice large common areas in AL. Their MC is super small and only for advanced disease, so much more open and even encouraging for assisted living until progressed. And can transfer to other facilities if I preferred another sites MC

We are very impressed with the care services, and when we are able to visit they have always been gracious enough to give us a meal. They do not have too many options to choose from, but once the dining room opens back up they will have a much wider variety to choose from. The social director is beyond fantastic. She really had tried to keep as much activities going under the restrictions. There is always something going on seven days a week. We do think the value is really good, but they did just increase the rates in January based on inflation.
Deciding on the best retirement & long term care community for my 84 year old (yet still mostly independent) father was one of the most important decisions I’ve made as an adult; I’ve learned the challenge of suddenly being “the Adult Child of a Senior Parent” is a very important role I could not imagine until I became one! However, with the compassionate, caring and professional guidance of Brookdale Collin Oaks my Dad feels very secure and happy in his new apt home. We are especially grateful to [name removed] and the other full-time staff there who have persevered during Covid-19 and still kept residents and their families updated and alleviated our fears. To make this decision in an unprecedented pandemic era was made far better by Brookdale Collin Oaks’ reassurance. The staff are all friendly, respectful and kind; my father feels safe and that’s the best feeling I could ask for! We are very impressed by and grateful to B.C.O. for helping us give my father the assistance he needs along with the dignity & independence he can maintain. Thank you for being here for reassuring Seniors and their families!
I toured Collin Oaks and was amazed at all they do. It's beautiful, well-maintained, the residents were all so happy and busy. [name removed] is so knowledgeable and helped us every step of the way! Everyone has been so helpful and kind. Can't wait for my dad to live here.
I live here and love it. There are a lot of things for us to do and the food is terrific. I highly recommend you visit [name removed] if you are thinking of moving to an assisted living facility.
My mother in law lived at Collin Oaks for almost four years after a short stay at our house. I quickly learned I couldn't take care of her. But, the staff at Collin Oaks did and it well! I highly recommend you visit with their wonderful team.
- Friendly people - Food looked really good - Lots of activities on calendar - Pet friendly - Great prices - Only negative is that the size of the rooms are a little small
Wonderful community. Staff really cares about my dad. I never have to worry about him! He has been there for four years now.
I've lived here for several years and made wonderful friends! Food is great, our community is always super clean! You would love it here!
Brookdale Collin Oaks is a wonderful community. The entire building is only one floor, which is a big plus and it has well appointed amenities. The residents there that I met were engaging with visitors which is always a huge plus! The staff is comprised of many who have made a career at this location, which is a testament to how well they care not just for residents but their employees. They have so much included and even take the residents out on planned excursions, like going for ice cream, shopping, eating out at restaurant & much more.
This place has been a real disappointment. It seems like a really nice facility at first but they just don't have enough people on staff to take care of the residents. The care coordinator is worthless. Also the the food quality is very poor. When visiting I rarely see any green vegetables mostly the meals are very starchy. My uncle has been there for a year and I wish I had helped pick out a better place
Most of this community is assisted living and they have one small section for residents that have Alzheimer’s, Dementia, or other memory conditions. They staff here are all really nice and compassionate as well. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t the right fit for my mother. They actually recommended another Brookdale property that deals with more memory care in the same city. Overall, it is a very nice community, just not the right fit of my mother.
Lovely place and great people. Open and airy. Too wide open for mom to get around unless she had a motorized chair.
After touring at different communities I started to realize assisted living was too expensive for one on a fixed income. There are not many respectable options. The community looked very nice but it was just not a good fit. A Place For Mom is great and I appreciate their services, it is helpful.
We are very pleased with my sisters move to this community. She is safe, and receiving the care she needs. They have gone above, and beyond to take care of her, and her needs. I'am comfortable with her move to this community, She is doing great since her move here, and I would recommend this facility.
Mom is doing as well as can be expected at Brookdale. The staff are warm and friendly. This community is smaller and has a cozy feeling to it. Mom likes the food and they keep the community clean. Mom enjoys playing bingo, going to church services and attending bible study. This community is in a good location for us.
We did not care for this community. There were some issues like it is in a busy intersection and their doors were open. Someone would could wander out. I also sat waiting for 20 minutes for my tour. The alarm for a needing resident was buzzing as I waited and during the tour. It seemed like they ignored the resident in need because it didn't stop. I noticed the trash was over flowing. The only good thing was the internal courtyard, it was nice.
We like the Brookdale Collin Oaks very much. My mother is enjoying all of the activities that they offer and all fo the residents that she has interacted with. Everyone there has been wonderful, I recommend them to anyone looking.
The care they provide is going well for my mom. The community is clean, smells well and a good place. My mom is eating her meal they serve her. She has been trying some activities and they are going to help her do things like carry the mail to different rooms. It will give her a feeling that she is carrying mail again, she use to work for the Post Office. I like the simplicity of the rooms. It's not complicated, they can bring their own furniture and they have lots of room. I also like how they keep my mom active to keep their minds active.
