To begin, I was not pleased the first 2 months at Birch Run fields. However, in the last month they are trying very hard to take care of business. The owner rarely comes in as they have a place in Grand Blanc and I think he spends a fair amount of time there. The manager, [name removed], in Birch Run is fabulous but she can only do so much. My sister and I had two or three sit-downs with her, because my father's room was not being kept clean, meals were not very good or not very much food. After our talks things have picked up they have a terrible Staffing problem, however, staff is wonderful. Even the staff that has quit my father liked them enormously, and so did my sister and myself. They did promise activities, and there are none. I don't know if it's because they don't have an activities director or if the residents just are not interested.. All that being said, He seems happy and he loves all the girls that are there and Men sorry, they're all very kind and take care of him and all of the residents. So, I guess my answers will be as of now because things I think are trying to improve. However two more people just quit the other day so cooking is still a mess.

They have misplaced many things. You really have to watch the laundry and the items you bring in for your loved one. They were very short staffed when we went in there, and there was only one person on at night time, which really bothered me. Eventually they did get one more person on at night. They seem to go through a lot of cooks and aides and can't seem to keep people here in general. It's a beautiful facility with a homey feeling, and you don't feel like it's a nursing home or assisted living. Their rehab people have been great. So there are some pros to it. It just needs to be managed better.
