They're very freindly. THe staff seemed to care and to want to help us. But in the nd, we foudn out that they did a lot of talking and not a lot of action. We found out they weren't giving her meds to her, they would just put them in her room and sh wasn't tking them. One of the staff told me they found a bunch of pills in her drawers, and I appreciate that honesty. I had a family member observe them set the meds on her dresser and leve. And then the more agitated she became, the less likely they were to come in to her room spend time with her.. At one point they were going to send her to a behavioral facility because they couldn't calm her down, and then that's all related to them not making sure she took her meds. They were going to send her awawy from us, andThat's wehn we pulled her out. Instead of observing her behavior and trying to come up with a solutin, their solution was just trying to ship her out. It was very disheartening. I really think there wer epeople there who cared and were trying to do their best for her. And when you can't get into a facility - we couldn't go in due to covid - you can't really learn where the breakdown is occurring.
We thought Arden Courts of Kenwood was great. We had even started the process to move in, but then I found out they're not able to take as sick of patients as where we ended up moving. I was disappointed that they couldn't take a patient who has trouble swallowing. But the lady that we worked with was very nice. She was such a sweet person. They handled us having to back out of the move-in very well. And she continued to follow up with us even after we moved in elsewhere to make sure my loved one was doing well.
This is a wonderful community to send my mother and we are very pleased. The rooms are small but more than enough, My mom was happy with the food. I would definitely recommend this community to others
9 months ago, was a very difficult time for our family, as we faced the reality that we needed to find a place to provide 24-hour care for my mom. We researched and visited many places. Once my dad spoke to the Arden Courts of Kenwood Administrative staff by phone, he felt peace for the first time about the possibility of having my mom move out of their home, where they had been for over 64 years. Upon taking a tour of the facility, and meeting additional staff, he knew it was the perfect place. For the past 7 months, my mom has been part of the Arden family, and yes, I mean family. All the staff have become like an extended family to us. They all display loving kindness, patience, friendliness, and understanding. They have not only been supportive to meet my mom’s needs and other resident’s needs with smiles and love, but also supportive to my dad’s emotional needs. Before restrictions from the current virus outbreak, my dad would visit my mom twice a day for several hours at each visit. He never witnessed one instance of unprofessional behavior toward any resident or fellow co-workers. Now that he can’t visit, he calls the staff twice a day to check on her and they are always courteous and reassuring that she is good. Sometimes various staff will even call him first to give him updates. They also have set aside time for him to speak with her by phone or video call. We love the variety of activities offered to the residents. We loved all the past family activities that we have been to. The photos online accurately reflect the clean and spacious residents’ rooms and community areas. They have a beautiful well-maintained and secured walking area outside for the residents. For those looking for a place to provide care for their loved one, my family and I highly recommend Arden Courts of Kenwood. Arden is very clean, spacious, secure and, most of all, full of loving staff. We are very grateful for their dedication, expertise, and care they give to my mom.
My Dad was in Arden Courts for five months, he got very good care while he was there. Everyone there was caring and helpful. The aides and nurses were great with him. [Names removed] were amazing. My other Dad will be needing memory care very soon. He will be going to Arden Courts Kenwood as well. Thank you everyone! [Names removed]
We transferred my mother to this facility after she was slapped by an aide at Madonna Manor in Villa Hills, KY. We could not find a facility in Kentucky that could accommodate her needs since she is currently in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's. ( Even places that claim to excel in Alzheimer care were honest to say that she required too much care for their facility. I told them they should stop saying they provide Alzheimer care.) We could not be more pleased with her care at Arden Courts of Kenwood. In her former facility, she could only walk down one hall and she would come to a locked door. Now there are so many places for her to go ( four complete households) and the residents are never hanging around a locked door. Most don't even know there is a locked door. The surroundings are homey and pleasant and very clean. No odors. The staff goes above and beyond to care for the residents. It is so nice to be able to picnic outside in the summer and walk along the trail and see the birds and wildlife. There is so much programming for residents, all aimed at keeping their minds sharp and allowing for participation or observation, depending on what is possible for the resident. Seasonally, families are invited to come to participate in a fun activity with their loved one - whether it is a band coming in to play hits of the past, or a western dance complete with barbecue, or a luau. We are paying no more for all these services than we did at Madonna Manor. Programming such as this did not exist at Madonna Manor. We only wish we had made this the first choice. We travel to see mom, but it is worth it. We decided that we would put her in the best place for her, not the most convenient place for us. [name removed]
This is a pretty nice community, and my tour of it was nice one. From what I saw they do a good job keeping the community well-kept. The staff was pleasant. I didn't have any problems, everything went well. I didn't feel this community met all my husbands needs, but my tour went well.
My aunt was a resident of Alden Court, while there she was able to walk and get outside, but she stopped eating and drinking and this went unnoticed until she fainted. She wad dehydrated and it went unnoticed. She died in a matter of days, I feel like this could have been prevented if they had taken better care of her.
We toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. Arden Courts of Kenwood seemed like a nice enough place overall. The staff here were friendly and professional, and I liked the family atmosphere that the community had. The facility itself was a little older than some similar options we saw, and didn't quite have the same bright cheery feel. But the people here seemed well cared for!
My father had a medical episode and we had to find a place for him very fast. The staff was extremely helpful and really went out of the way to help out. The place is very well kept and immaculately clean. I am a facility manager and I know what it takes to keep a place like this clean and have a very keen eye for such and trust me, they do an excellent job in this regard. On the downside, they let one of his medicines run completely out before we even knew that it was low. As far as maintaining his meds, that was a definite disappointment.
So far things have gone very well with Arden Courts of Kenwood! It's a very nice looking, clean community, and the staff have all been very friendly! They're polite, helpful, and so far they've been great about communication. We really appreciate how they'll call us to give us an update about even minor changes to her care or medications.
