Is that it was a really hard transition for my dad to commit to and the staff in Spring Lake went above and beyond to make the experience very easy answering all of our questions and making my dad feel at home.

Best experience so far
This facility is very nice! When I visit, everyone is always friendly. Communication with the family has been absolutely wonderful. My loved one struggles with being able to verbally communicate. The staff understands that and is wonderful about working with her and being patient with her. They've been so great about it. Activities were very good, but the director is on maternity leave right now so there isn't as much variety. Overall, we're very happy with this facility. I would recommend them to friends and family.

satisficed with the staff
The American House community is very nice and very clean and everything has been going good with the staff. We do know our friend is liking everything. The meals are included with the monthly rent and she enjoys them. They are also doing more and more activities each day.

Would highly recommend
The staff do a really good job keeping the community very clean, and we were extremely impressed with the meals and dining service. Our loved one, due to her health, is not able to participate in the activities but they do have a lot going on, we are impressed with their variety. It is expensive but they do a good job taking care of our loved one.

My Review of American House
We chose American House because it was a locked facility, and they had availability at the time that we needed it. The room size was very good I thought. My husband was a people person and loved talking to people, and with covid he was not able to do that. He had dementia, and we had to mask up when visiting so it was hard to know if he knew who we were. Overall it would depend on the individual if I would recommend or not.

Unacceptable Standard of Care for Loved Ones
I cannot recommend American House’s Willow Brook. My mother was a resident for 18 months and I spent a lot of time with her, observing the care and staff in many different situations . While her care was initially “decent,” it was unacceptably horrible by the end of her stay. Many ( not all) of the aides were apathetic, inattentive and neglectful. Aides spent more time on their phones or on breaks than providing care. Orders from care providers were often not followed or fulfilled. If you needed something, often you had to ask 4-5 times before it was fulfilled. Unless you can be there 24/7 to advocate for your loved one, look elsewhere before considering Willow Brook at American House.

Place needs lots of help
Cost almost six thousand a month in memory care. Pillow cases stained with blood sheets torn or very worn edge. Cleaning once a week never done only bathroom cleaned and garbage emptied. Every Sunday night only half a sandwich and a small bowl of soup. Medicine hardly ever given on time. Supervisions hardly mixed with tenants. Short staff most of the time and staff changes all the time they just cannot keep good help. Staff having to work extra shifts all the time but not upper management they never cover. So because of the turn over there is NO training!! Really needs big improvement!

Dad is happy Here
The setting in here is very peaceful and quiet. There isn't a lot of commotion going on. It has a homey feeling to it, maybe 18 residents. He sometimes enjoys the daily activities, they had a Christmas party and his wife joined him for that. The food is very good the chef is a retired chef so it is excellent, he buys the food and prepares it. They have private rooms and they will come in and clean them weekly. The whole place is always clean. The staff always try to accommodate him and his needs. I would recommend this community.

Very nice rooms and nice surroundings. Smaller buildings and separate ones for Assisted and Memory Care. This would be Independent Living with services added if needed. Smaller venue but not sure if right socializing environment.

Apartment as big as what they moved out of
The 2 bedroom apartment that mom and dad moved into is as big as the townhouse they moved out of they have so much space. The staff is wonderful especially the maintenance staff they made it so much easier moving mom and dad into their apartment.
Mom and dad are enjoying their time there they are slowly getting involved in activities and meeting new people. The residents are very diverse
The landscaping is very nice everything is well groomed and taken care of from the inside to the outside. The food is fabulous very well prepared.

This facility was very nice and very well run when it was Oak Crest. Since American House has taken over the care and staffing (what staffing they have) has gotten horrible. My mother is in what is supposed to be an assisted living, they have been moving Alzheimer patients into her building, and now she has to lock her door to keep these patients out of her room. Some days, she only eats once a day because the food that is prepared is not elderly friendly. Family members have to come daily to make her bed, make sure she has clean towels, toilet paper, empty trash. Many nights she is not getting her medication because the ONLY STAFF person is not in the building. Yes, there is only ONE person assigned to be on staff, and that person is out of the building, so if something should happen, there is no one in the building, and we have watched this person leave the building and not come back for 30-60 minutes. The other day while I was visiting, a resident in another room pulled the call cord.....the annoying buzzer went off for over an hour. My mother said that sometimes she hears that noise all night long. Very disappointed with American House!!

Pleased with my Move Here
I'am satisfied with my move to this community everything is working out well. Everyone has been welcoming, and kind. The staff is good, and helpful. They do a good job with the cleanliness of the community. The meals are pretty good, and they provide good activities for the residents. I'am pleased with this community, and I would recommend it.

A good experience
Mom enjoyed her short respite stay at this community. The staff were nice and helpful. The food was good and they offer plenty of activities. The community is clean and I would recommend this community for a respite stay.

Good Tour For The most Part
I had a pretty good tour of this community. For the most part the community appeared to be well-kept. The staff I met was kind and friendly. There were many factors that played into where to place my mother. This community wasn't the right fit her and her needs.
