I would recommend you take everything the community says with a grain of salt. This is a good place to live. The follow through with the staff and doctor requests could be improved upon and they need to listen to the resident's needs more. The service and food in the dining room is poor. The community could use more diverse options for the residents to choose from. The wait staff have been known to yell back and forth at each other in front of residents in the dining room on a daily basis. It is a beautiful community.... Read more

This is a very nice community. During the time we have been here, the pandemic was in full swing. Things are starting to change back to the way it seemed to be prior to the pandemic. There are staffing shortages currently; however, everyone is very friendly and helpful here. I can't wait to see what it looks like when things are in full swing. Some of the activities available are exercise classes, bocce, pickleball, tennis, basketball, bus trips, water aerobics, and more for the residents to choose from. They will even take you to the doctor if you are within 10 miles of the community. The maintenance team is great and will come up when called. If you have any packages delivered the staff will deliver them to your room. It is a nice resort type of area. There is a pool for assisted living and two pools for independent living. There is even an outside dining area open after the pandemic. The best thing is that I can walk into Lakes Park.
The food could really be improved and just well rounded, more of a variety. More fruit, vegetables, and protein and not just all carbs.
Our family had a virtual tour and our loved ones felt like the community was to small, and really did not care for it. Also they did not like the specific location it was in.
We virtually toured this community and it was very nice. The staff was very friendly and shared a lot of great information. The tour was good but we couldn't do an in-person tour due to Covid.
With Covid, you're not able to go in and visit with your loved one. Communication wasn't really that good. When we called and left a message, they didn't call us back. So we'd have to call again. Our loved one wasn't happy there at the beginning, but he was starting to feel more and more that he fit in. It was just a matter of getting used to the people and the environment altogether, the staff and the residents. Our loved one didn't like the food. He thought they served too much fish, and he was a meat and potatoes guy.
This property seems ideally suited. I was very impressed with the staff, amenities, and overall feel. I'm waiting for further information.
I would talk very highly of this community to anyone that asked. My dad loved this community. I was able to have dinner with my dad three times a week. Everyone that we dealt with was amazing. The food was delicious. They have a formal dining room that included menu items salmon and steak along with other items. The other dining room was located by the pool and it was more casual. This was all pre COVID.
We had a deposit at 3 local retirement communities before choosing Amavida. It's like living in a resort. Tennis, pickleball, golf putting. Balcony and pool. The Landscaping is exceptional. Location excellent, backs up to Lake Park with access. Close to Lee City Health hospitals and physicians, near RSW Airport. Staff is very attentive. Month-to-month rental, no buying charges.
Amavida's Independent Living features daily activities, 2 restaurants, a movie theater, art room, gym, hair and nail salon, and PT and OT on site. Add in helpful, courteous staff and friendly residents, making this a first-class place to be. Note: beautiful buildings includes independent living, assisted living, memory care, well-manicured lawns, and courtyards. Several pools and a small lake and to its appeal.
Beautiful facility, friendly helpful staff.
