Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to assure their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as assessment must provide information about the resident s health status and functional, psychosocial, activity, and dietary needs, staffing patterns, recent changes or risk factors in the resident s life, and evaluate residents who have behavioral problems to determine their intensity, duration, and frequency. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include reminding residents to take medication, observing residents while they take the medication, and staff may supervise self-administration of medications if a licensed health care professionall determines that a resident is capable of self administration. . Staff must obtain training in a number of fields. These areas include group and individual resident activities, the ombudsmen s role, complaint procedures, and infection control.
