Assisted living communities often offer help with transit and appointments, chances for recreational activity, and support with daily activities. In some situations, communities may offer skilled nursing care, “aging in place”, or Alzheimer’s care. In Pennsylvania, the annual median cost for an assisted living community is around $40,020 . Staff are required to receive education in a number of subjects. These areas include emergency procedures, abuse and reporting requirements, infection control, and fire safety.
