Assisted living facilities provide a sense of community as well as individualized care. Assisted living facilities often provide help with transportation and appointments, care supervision, and opportunities for social activity. In certain cases, facilities may provide dementia care, respite, or hospice. In Louisiana, the annual median cost for an assisted living facility is around $43,800 .
