Review ofThe Trace Senior Community
4.0

I chose The Trace because of the larger room sizes and there are fewer people who live here. The staff is very friendly, but the problem is they are short staffed which is no fault of their own. The residents are all very friendly and welcoming. I really like my room size, I had plenty of room for all of my things and I have a nice size closet. They come in and clean once and week and the grounds are well kept. The facility is pet friendly and they seem to enjoy my dog. The food and dining service is starting to improve. I would recommend them to others who are looking.

I wouldn't recommend the community to others for their loved ones. We had some problems, most of them was around communication. Anytime I tried to reach out to my loved one, they had to transfer me to the nurse station and the nurses we would let us know that they would call back and it would take several attempts to get back to speak to our loved one. The communication overall was bad. The food was terrible as well. Half the time the food was served cold. The taste was dry and bland.

It's been a blessing. This was one of the hardest decisions we've had to make in our lives, I'm sure for others too. Our loved one has thrived since she's been there. When she was home, she was depressed and nasty all the time. Now she's smiling, because they know how to deal with her when I didn't. The food looks delicious, and she would definitely let me know of any complaints. So far she hasn't had any. The facility is beautiful, and the staff is so loving. One of their aides came in on her day off to bring my loved a little bag of gifts on her birthday. It was so touching. The care they prove to her is just phenomenal. I would definitely recommend them to others and already have!

First of all, we looked at several different places, and Laketown Village was by far the most professional in terms of the interaction and the welcoming process. Beyond that, they're located in New Orleans, and I have to compliment them on their storm evacuation process. They did a great job and took my loved one to a place where she actually liked even more. Reading the stories of what other families had to deal with, we had no worries. We were communicated with constantly. The residents were safe getting to and from the different locations. And it was professionally handled all the way through. The staff at Laketown Village are very attentive and often anticipate your needs, which is unusual. I live out of state, and there are a lot of things I can't do for my loved one on a daily basis. They take great care of her and will sometimes even come in on their off days to do things for her. One of the staff, [name removed], says he tries to treat everyone like they're his mom or dad, and I love that approach. Overall the food is good, no real issues. My loved one has a favorite cook, and if that person isn't cooking she's less happy with the food. But we've been very happy with Laketown Village overall.

It is a smaller facility, only about 90 residents and we like that. All of the rooms have been remodeled. They went through a hurricane recently and were shut down for 6 weeks. They have done a great job getting things back up and running again. They even had a welcome back party for all of the residents and their families the day after they opening. I think it is a great place and I would definitely recommend them to others looking.

We chose Inspired Living because the facility is immaculate and very clean, the staff is very friendly, and also they offer 24 hour care if you needed it.
