An assisted living community is an organized living community which administers support, assistance, and supervision to self-sufficient persons who are not in need of skilled nursing support. Assisted living communities usually provide supervision of care, opportunities for organized activity, and help with daily activities. In certain instances, communities may provide “aging in place”, nursing care, or respite. In Kansas, the annual median cost for an assisted living community is around $53,670 . Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to assure their needs are going to be met.
