The East Coast seatown of Bridgeport is located right on the Atlantic seaboard. The city is known for its majestic shoreline, its fascinating museums, and its dedication to the performing arts. The Jefferson Ferry provides the best view of the city from the middle of the Long Island Sound. The city of Bridgeport prides itself on its dedication to the arts. The Housatonic Museum of Art has a wide collection of pieces from the 1700s, 1800s and 1900s. For those who enjoy outdoor recreation there is Seaside Park. The park is 325 acres large and has over three miles of coastline that is dotted with beaches. The park was designed by the same person who designed Central Park in New York City and includes a wildlife preserve and a lighthouse. Fairchild Wheeler is the city’s municipal golf course and offers two 18-hole courses that are open to the public.

Transportation

There are not many public transportation options available within the city and a car may be necessary to get around.
