The staff also get to know their patients and their personalities and how to interact with them on a daily basis which is also comforting. The facility is great for patients with dementia and Alzheimer's because it is a lock down facility and it is comforting to know that they are safe inside the building.

Runk and Pratt at Liberty Ridge is a beautiful facility. The doors open and you see beautiful furniture and decorations for each season. Reminded us of resort living while we traveled the world. Our personal room is outdated with a dirty beige carpet and a pale oak vinyl flooring. For some reason the staff turnover is often and leaves us feeling vulnerable. They hire help that is not properly trained and they cannot understand or speak English. No one is comfortable asking for personal assistance and we finally feel comfortable with the aides and then they are gone. The meals or not desired by many of us, served cold, without condiments, no real comfort meals that we are use to eating at home. I desire fried chicken, mashed potatoes, cornbread and buttermilk, pinto beans, navy beans, fresh squash with tomato biscuits, cucumbers and vinegar...Not many of us desire black beans, soggy chicken, Mexican dishes or quiche. I expected more of a restaurant experience from what I was told. The cleanliness of the rooms has diminished to almost non existent. We are going to see if we can hire a housekeeper to sweep, vacuum, mop and dust weekly. They do change our sheets, take our laundry down and bring it back up folded. We do seem to have a good medical physician, therapy department onsite. We are thankful to be here and not in a nursing home where most of our friends spend there last days. We have discussed with many friends the cost here. We feel it is fair but you do have maintenance fees once a year and the cost of care increases yearly. Hopefully if you pick here you will have family to come and visit ( it still gets lonely) take you out to visit the lovely area and who will surprise you with good food sometimes

I thought the community looked like they may be understaffed and my mom would not get the care she needed in her condition. Immediately was impressed with [facility removed], and I was right in choosing them for her care.

My mom was here for 58 days. While she was well it was a nice place. Good people and good programs. Excellent food though there was a need to eat in shifts due to overcrowding. After she got Covid it was difficult for her to recover. On Friday I told them she needed to see a nurse or doctor. I was told the nurse practitioner was scheduled for Tuesday. On Saturday she was bad enough to send by ambulance to the hospital where she stayed nine days. I certainly could not return her to Runk and Pratt knowing their limited nursing help. But of course she was charged for 4 weeks that she was not there. If you are healthy and like a small place it’s good.

They are understaffed which is the reason we gave them some lower ratings, it was difficult to find the staff when you needed them. However everything there was very kind and really did try their best.

The aides and support are constantly revolving and totally understaffed to the point they simply cannot take care of all the clients properly.

My loved one is currently a resident at Runk and Pratt at Leesville Road. I constantly have to reach out to the main office that is over the administrator to get my loved one a shower because of staffing. Our overall experience at this facility has been poor. I would never recommend Runk and Pratt at Leesville Road to anyone.

The outward appearance of the facility is beautiful, but that's where it ends. I would estimate at the time Mother was there 70% to 80% of the direct care staff were non-English speaking. They also appeared to be understaffed on many occasions. Missed meals, falls, linens not changed Cleaning of the room haphazard at best. We got really tired of complaining and moved Mother to a small facility and she has thrived there.

They scheduled my tour and then they had no one there for the appointment. It was a half done tour. It was awful and they appeared to be understaffed.

Please stop looking at how nice the building is and look at what really goes on in this place. Talk to your family members and see what is happening. Residents are not able to complained or call DSS or State on the place. If they do they will be kicked out within 30 days of the administration founding out. They treat their employees like they treat some of the residents. Residents missed meals medication and the ones that aren’t able to take their own shores or go get their meals go without both of these. Ask me how I know. They put this image out on facebook like they care by taking pictures etc but they don’t. No trained staff they come in with no experience and train for 2 days and then left on a floor by themselves with 30 or more residents. And get away with it because it’s assisted living but have of them needs to be in skilled care. Administration is terrible they cover up for each others mistakes. They are the biggest drama started I have ever seen. The owners should be ashamed

Starting out I was VERY disappointed in this facility. Missed baths, laundry not done, linens not changed, etc.. I was on the phone with them none stop for the first two months even contacting Corporate. Things have been a little better in the last month, a new administrator was hired in January. I hope there will be continued improvement as I have met other family members with loved ones in Assisted Living at this facility and they have expressed the same concerns. While things for my loved one have improved in the last six weeks or so, but still room for a lot of improvement. I am hopeful this new administrator will be successful in increasing the level of basic care in Assisted Living.

My loved one had a particularly bad experience. I know not everybody here does. Because it's memory care, there are a lot of variables that are outside of everyone's control. But there are certain standards of care that should be met. Some staff members were very concerned about her well-being, and others were so unconcerned that they didn't report they had found her on the floor in the bathroom in the middle of the night (and she doesn't even walk). It wasn't reported to shift change or to our family. She didn't receive any sort of assessment after she was found, at least not anything that was reported. The fall was recorded in a book, but nobody knew anything about it. They finally did x-ray her hip about 12 hours later, and the femoral head was severed. I understand there are so many factors involved. It's memory care, and things happen. I just don't feel like their staff is well enough trained. And ultimately it's the patients who suffer the consequences. I think this is probably a better place for ambulatory people or those who aren't a fall risk.

I would rate this community above average compared with others in Lynchburg. However, the quality of meals offered would have to be poor. There are many complaints about having too many meals that are Mexican or Spanish or Italian style. Most of the meals are chicken, fish, or pork with fancy names and sauces due to the quality of food, I rate this community low.

My loved one was a high fall risk. The staff at R&P at Forest were unable/unwilling to keep an eye on him to prevent falls. He went to the emergency room with head injuries multiple times during his short stay there. This facility is set up more like an assisted living facility, which was not a good fit for most patients with dementia. I do not recommend this facility if your loved one is not very independent.

Runk and Pratt at Liberty Ridge leaves the patients in their rooms, except for meal time and occasional check-in. Which may be okay for some residents, but not those with high fall and aspiration risk, like my father. Activities staff does not invite or assist getting all of the residents to activities. Staff has 'hiding places' out of the sight of cameras, and they do not answer call bells promptly. The facility is clean. No odor at all. My father really enjoyed the food. The management was friendly. The care takers were friendly, but at least half did not speak English, which was a huge issue for myself and many of the residents I observed.
