The tour went great here. The staff was knowledgeable and we were able to get around the property. There were residents in the dining area eating there lunch. I just didn't think this was a good fit for mom though.

Mary Brook was a real mixture for me. The home, furnishings, yard, etc. were in great need of upkeep. Cupboard doors were broken off, furniture was threadbare, etc. However, it was clean. There were 9 residents when I was there and they can house 12 and it seems a little too many for my comfort. The lady in charge sat down with me (the only one who did from my 3 visits), asked me about my mom, took notes and in general, seemed interested in our needs. I appreciated how she spoke to the ladies who live there also. This was the only one of the 3 we could possibly afford. But they sure need help with the upkeep of the place!

They could not handle the level of care my mom needed. They were not upfront about what they would be able to handle. They did not follow the diet my mom needed. The food had too much salt. The room was a decent size. The care was my biggest issue.

Mary Brook Residence was horrid. I wouldn’t put my dog there. It was just dumpy and not clean. The oven smelled so horrible, and one of the cooks/aides mentioned "Yeah, it’s been like that since last Thanksgiving." This was on our tour in August.
