Independent Living

For many seniors, the burden of home ownership and the upkeep of daily tasks and chores might deter them from enjoying an otherwise independent life. Independent Living Communities offer a good alternative. Meals, recreational activities and housekeeping chores are taken care of while you are unrestricted to use your time as you wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to live among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and interests. Typically consisting of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer homes with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and there will be more time to spend with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies differ between communities, a number of residences allow cats and dogs as well. Nursing and health care services can always be arranged for with private care providers if desired. There are an assortment of costs and advantages to balance when selecting an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these services are covered in the plan: internet access, field trips, transportation, utilities, cable TV, meals, parking, and laundry. The luxuries that pertain to independent living include fitness center & swimming pool, transportation, laundry service, concierge services, golf course, beauty salon & barber shop, healthcare center, and private rental hall.
