Independent Living

An Independent Living Community allows residents the ability to live an independent lifestyle while ensuring their fundamental needs are fulfilled. Daily needs such as the scheduling of social activities and meal planning are taken care of, allowing seniors more opportunities to live life as they desire. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar ages and backgrounds. Within the individual units, residents have access to a private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a companion if they choose. While policies differ between communities, a number of residences allow cats and dogs as well. If medical or nursing assistance is desired, residents may always utilize the services of independent caregivers. There are a number of expenses and benefits to balance when choosing an independent living community. It is important to learn if these services are included in your service plan: parking, cable TV, transportation, internet access, laundry, housekeeping, meals, and wellness program. The amenities associated with independent living include transportation, game/TV room, community activities, healthcare center, golf course, restaurant-style dining hall, fitness center & swimming pool, and security guards.
