Independent Living

Independent Living Communities provide seniors with a balance between an independent lifestyle and not having to concern themselves with housekeeping. Food preparation, leisure activities and housekeeping duties are handled for you while you are unrestricted to use your time as you wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Typically comprised of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer homes with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies differ between communities, many residences allow cats and dogs as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with private care providers as desired. There are an assortment of benefits and expenditures to consider when selecting an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these services are covered in your service plan: meals, field trips, laundry, housekeeping, internet access, utilities, Waiting list deposit, and private phone. The benefits associated with independent living include transportation, laundry service, golf course, community activities, beauty salon & barber shop, game/TV room, healthcare center, and security guards.
