Independent Living

Independent Living Communities provide seniors with a harmony between an opportunity to live an independent lifestyle and not having to concern themselves with the basic tasks of housekeeping and responsibilities. Basic chores such as meal preparation and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and leisure activities is provided, allowing residents an opportunity to use their time as they wish, free from daily obligations. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to live among peers, surrounded by others of similar ages and backgrounds. Residents' quarters consist of a private living space with their own kitchen. The independence of apartment life is still enjoyed, offering opportunities to socialize with guests and visitors in a private and personal setting. While policies differ between communities, many residences allow pets as well. If medical or nursing care is desired, residents may always enlist the services of independent care providers. There are a variety of advantages and expenses to balance while determining an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these amenities are included in your plan: laundry, internet access, private phone, field trips, wellness program, transportation, Waiting list deposit, and move-in fee.
