BEST ASSISTED LIVING!!!! Dads been there for 3 years and the staff (new people run it now) is amazing!!!!! Facility always clean, no bad odor. Better than any assisted living in area. I think bad reviews are lies put up by competitors because they aren't true. Staff is 3 or 4 residents to 1 caregiver, so dad gets alot of attention. Activities. Great food. Great management and fair prices.... Read more

Our family had an in person tour and as soon as we walked in we knew this was not the place for our loved one. The price was within range but we were not sure about the room size, and we just did not get that good feeling.

I was very happy with the care of my loved one from Whitewood. They were always welcoming, engaging, and loving. They treated us all like family. The manager, [name removed], is truly amazing with a heart of gold. All of the nursing staff is personable and kind to the residents as well as any visitors. When I first visited, I could have let the looks deceive me. But after several visits, I knew that it was definitely not the looks that mattered! The residents are all happy and they all treat each other like family. My loved one was moved to this facility after a unpleasant experience from a neighboring facility. After the move, my loved one did a total 180 in health, happiness, and personality. Whitewood brought the pep back into the step and the love back into the heart!

BEST ASSISTED LIVING! Everything is so great at Whitewood. My mom has been there for 4 years now and is so happy and so are we. Other residents and family love it here. Staff ratio the most anywhere, usually 1 staff to every 3 residents, so residents are constantly cared for. Food is terrific, former Holly's Restaurant food preparer who makes home cooked tasty meals and snacks. Don't believe any bad reviews, not true, I am there nearly every day. Affordable, best prices.

We toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. This was one of the least expensive options in the area, but the quality of the facility left something to be desired. It just seemed run down in general. Also we visited during the summer months, and the facility was very hot inside.

I do not normally take the time to review online, but I feel in this case it is imperative that people hear the experience my family had at the assisted living facility, Whitewood Assisted Living, in Grasonville, MD. The owners are entrusted after all to the care of a family member in their later years. This facility is a bit less expensive than most, but that cost comes at a high price. This facility is essentially a waiting room where residents are left to die. There are no activities. The food is unbearable. The nursing staff is one person per shift and highly inexperienced, as the turnaround is a few weeks it seems. One nurse is meant to handle a patient who is constantly leaving the facility and is aggressive, make food, clean spills and attend to all the residents? Our relative was paying for 24 hour care, and in a month fell twice, both times resulting in hospitalization. One fall left our relative in shock trauma, and nobody in the family knew where she was for eight hours! This is unacceptable, given she could have died and nobody knew where she was. We had to track her down, after being told she was in the local emergency room found she had been taken by helicopter to Baltimore. The owners are also unavailable by phone in the evening, told by staff they turn their cell phones off and retreat to their home upstairs. Both times she fell there were excuses and the owners were not there, and the only nurse was young and did not even know to call anyone. On the day we moved our relative due to safety issues and concern of treatment, she was in a bed on the floor, as apparently side rails on beds are too expensive! We tried to speak with the owners, during business hours. The wife ran upstairs knowing we were trying to speak with her, it was laughable if not for how sad it was! The owners barricaded themselves in the house, and did not answer our knocks or phone calls. Phone calls were never returned, and we found out our relatives prescription medications had been thrown out. At her new facility, Heartland House just down the road, she has gained about ten pounds, smells wonderful and participates in many activities. Please do your research and do not be duped by this facility. They should not be in business! We now have a happy relative and definitely worth the extra few hundred dollars!
