  • Beware

My mother was here for 3 months because she could no longer live in her senior apartment. They tell you all kinds of lies and act super caring and helpful until we moved her in. The crap about home cooked food? Opening a can of Campbells soup and a slice of bread for lunch? A pasta or rice with some kind of sauce (no meat) for dinner. Snacks to suit the person? Nope they made us provide anything specific my mom wanted - and then didn't give it to her most of the time! They changed the cost when we had already moved my mom in and the first payment was made! As for 24 hour staff? Yes, there is one person who lives there with her husband and kids in the basement and puts the residents to bed at like 6:30 and leaves them alone all night. So many people died in the 3 months we couldn't even get to know their names - seemed a little odd they have such a fast turn around. My mom didn't complain very much but we were always being told she was lying about things or she was "confused". Trust me, my mom was a sharp as they come and had zero dementia. We were looking to move her again - which is difficult for older people when she started to quickly decline physically and it was December so we just didn't know what was the right thing to do. Subsequently she died on Jan. 11, 2020. She was 97 so she did live a good long life, but in hindsight I think she just wasn't getting the quality care that they promised. There isn't anything we can do now - I just wish we had someone tell us these things.

  • Committed, Loving & Tender Care

My mom was the very first resident to live in the Walnut Creek facility in Macomb, MI. She was very happy to have found her new home there and she was received with smiles, warm hearts and hot, homemade meals. [name removed] and his staff are true professionals. We found solace in their loving care of mom. Over the years we celebrated Thanksgiving at Walnut Creek as a "family", we enjoyed Halloween activities and Christmas gift sharing. [name removed] and his team actually became more than just friends. They became family. As mom continued to struggle with her health, [name removed] and the Walnut Creek staff became more and more important to us. They helped us with big decisions that involved keeping mom comfortable and happy for as long as we could. If you are considering [name removed] and his team to support a family member, please put your fears aside and rely on your faith. Know that [name removed] is honest, hard working, fair and reasonable. He and his team have my family's 100% support. They are great people and we placed our faith in them. We are happy today to have been so blessed as to have them in our lives for as long as were did.
