he staff is usually nice but their turn around of employees is fast. The employees come and go it seems as soon as everyone gets used to them. The meals are horrible. My mom is diabetic and every meal and option has pasta noodle or sandwiches. When she first got there in [date removed] all meals were included in the rate. Now if she wants dinner then she has to pay [fees removed] extra a month. They serve sandwiches 85% of the time for dinner. The meals don't change but my mom said the kitchen staff is always different. they are the cheaper of the places around my house so that she is closer to me. Other than the food I would recommend it under the old management [name removed], however he has left and someone new is in charge so it's very hard to say right now. I would put recommend and hopefully it stays that way under new management.... Read more

Vitality Living is just a very welcoming community, including the other patients and the staff. The staff have been wonderful. My loved one is getting good care. The facility is good, is generally clean, and has a homey feel to it.

June 21, 2022Hi, Diana - we know that making a move to a senior community can be a difficult process and it makes us all so happy to hear of great experiences like this. Thank you for your feedback!
The friendliness of the staff here is a 5+, and I would recommend Vitality Living Pleasant Hills community to other families. I love my cottage that is number one, it is just the perfect size for me. I am one of the lucky ones that has their porch facing the gazebo which is just so beautiful and I feel very safe here. It is expensive but I hear it is less expensive then others in the area.

March 22, 2022Hi, Nancy - we love to have fun! We are so happy you are enjoying yourself, and we are looking forward to keeping the fun going. Thank you for choosing Vitality Living Pleasant Hills!
The apartments and cottages are nice. If you like to eat, don't do it. They are very small portions. The food seemed to have fillers, like banana bread with beans. Meals are cooked in the morning and then sit under close to the meal time and then placed in the frig to pick up later. The food seems dry like it set out for a long time. The food is unappetizing. They seem to reuse the same foods. Like overheating the same breads to use over a few days. Like we wouldn't notice. I should have asked more questions in the beginning.

our experience with Vitality Living is so far so good. my loved one has a nice apartment, located in a good neighborhood - he is well taken care of. they're also doing a great job of transporting him to his appointments. I especially like that they keep the family informed on my loved ones care and well being. it's important to me that I am kept up to date; I feel involved in everything that's going on.

March 14, 2022Hi, Wanda - we know that making a move to a senior community can be a difficult process and it makes us all so happy to hear of great experiences like this. Thank you for your feedback!
Vitality living is conveniently located for shopping and restaurants, really anything you may need and it it in a matter of blocks away. The staff are so friendly, I would give them a 10 out of 5 if I could. They are all extremely helpful. The food is wonderful. We have an amazing chef and the quantity is great. I would tell others you probably need a scooter or walker if you are independent living and are not very mobile because the cottages are a pretty fair distance. If you are moving from a house, you will be limited in what you are able to take with you, there is not a lot of storage space. There are also not garages for your cars. They are a very pet friendly facility, people walk around with their pets and even put them on their scooters. Everybody seems very happy here and I would recommend to others looking.

January 26, 2022Hi, thank you for your feedback! We appreciate it.
Although my mom has only lived at vitality for [dates removed] I have been pleased with the attention given to her thus far. When she presses her button for assistance they are promptly there which is comforting. From the sales counselor to the activity director and all other staff thus far, has been impressive along with the food.

The place itself is really nice, however our loved one was just not getting her money's worth. The management was terrible and we have two big issues with them. One was the lack of communication, when you would approach them with an issue they said it would get done but they never followed through with it and the entire time our loved one was there nothing was fixed. They needed to have better medication management, they messed up multiples times, they were giving her the wrong dosages, at times they did not know what they were giving her because the medicine was not being administered by a nurse. They also would skip medication, and there was just no communication. Our second issue was the food, our loved one needed to be on a soft diet, and for five months she was only given two options to chose from and even then sometimes she was only given a few items to eat for the entire day. During those five months we had to go all the way up to the vice president to try and get this issue resolved and it never was. There was also a lot of staff turnover and our experience was just a complete disaster.
The community cheated us, they had to have my mom leave due to her condition but continued to charge us. They have not refunded us any of the money that they owe us. I would not recommend this community
The food at this community absolutely needs improvements, one meal we were given buttered noodles and rice, which was two carbs and that was it. However, there are a couple decent meals. The house keeping who takes care of my apartment cleans everything from my bathroom to the kitchen. I haven not had any trouble with the staff members, Sometimes the activities director bring drinks and little snacks on a cart around our rooms. For Halloween we get treats, and if it is your birthday you can also get little goody bags.
It is in a good location, staff friendly, I haven't had any problem with my mom being there. the room sizes are nice, the layout of the community is okay. They have a porch and a patio for outdoor space. My mom does not like the food.
The place looks like it could do a good job of making sure I had a good life. I still have to decide whether I want to move at all from my current home - which is very similar to Brookdale's resources. The tour guide ([name removed]) was very pleasant and informative.
At Brookdale Pleasant Hills they allow parents to keep their independence and grow new friendships. This is the happiest I have seen my mom since my step father passed away. It is a great place. My mom likes the food, no longer has to buy groceries.
We liked everything about this community. No golf carts allowed.
We liked everything about this community.
The only reason why I didn’t chose this facility is because the location was not near my Mother’s doctor. Even though I didn’t pick this facility, I was still rooting for them. The woman who gave me the tour actually worked at this location and another sister location. She was telling me about all of the employees who have been here for 10 to 20 years and I was impressed. Brookdale must be a great employer if they are keeping their employees around for 20 years. I like that because it means that the employees actually want to be there and they will take great care of the residents. The only reason preventing the 5-star review is I felt like the outside of the building could have used some work. It was vinyl siding that had a lot of mold on it and all it needed was just a good pressure washing. I would recommend this community.
I toured this community and it was nice. But didn't have any openings. The guy that gave me the tour was OK. It was an older building and needed updating. It looked dingy in there. We chose to go elsewhere and not wait.
After taking some time to find a community i picked this one after enjoying the tour.
