The facility is clean and quiet. They can improve with communication and quality of care. but I am disappointed at this time. Staff is weak.

Everything seemed okay on our tour. It’s a smaller community, and didn't seem to offer as much as a larger community we chose. Also the residents weren’t as talkative and friendly. But there was nothing wrong with Villagio that I could see, no red flags.
Response from Villagio at Carrollton
October 14, 2022Thank you for your review of our community. It is a smaller environment compared to some with two neighborhoods that offer both assisted living and memory care options. We take great pride and measures to ensure the quality of life for each resident is excellent which includes activities and socialization. Thank you again for your review and we agree there is a right fitting community for each person's needs. Should you ever need us in the future we would be honored.
Villagio at Carrolton was too small, and just not what we were looking for.
Our family had an in person tour and the community is older so we knew it wasn't going to be the best fit. However the gal who did the tour was absolutely wonderful, but there was just not that many residents there. The internal courtyard has been destroyed by the big storm they had months ago, but when we came on the tour months later it still was not really picked up or cleaned out. You could tell this community is trying to turn things around and get back up on their feet. It is in a great looking neighborhood area and very reasonably priced.
I feel so comfortable here and I know mom is safe in their care. She is always clean and happy when I pop in to visit her. Great choice.
My mom lived at Villagio of Carrollton for 3 years. They took excellent care of her. The staff is loving and kind. I appreciate how well they treated my mom and our entire family.
My wife and I moved here about 1 1/2 years ago. She needed more care and I just needed a nice place to be with her. The good news is she is doing great and as the saying goes happy wife, happy life. We have no complaints. The caregivers do so much for us, we are very grateful to have found Villagio. The activity director is wonderful too.

I toured this community and was very pleased with what I observed. My mom is currently in the hospital and then it looks like rehab, but our plan is to bring her here afterward. It's close to home, they did a great job helping me understand everything and the residents I observed appeared well and seemed to be happy. I'm anxious to get mom settled. Also, the price is very fair for the marketplace.

I have been at Villagio of Carrollton for a year now...time sure flies. I wasn't sure about moving into a senior home, but it has been a good thing for me. They make sure I'm taken care of, I get help I need. There are plenty of things to do and the staff is very good too. I do like the food, it's home made. I am happy.

I am a resident at Villagio of Carrollton. I love everything about this community. The best thing for me is the activities we do. The art projects really are my favorite...The activity director pays attention to what we enjoy and makes it happen. I also like that I can have time to myself or join in if I want to. And the food is really good.

I'm [name removed] and I am a resident at Villagio of Carrollton. They take good care of me here. I am always able to do something from bible study and singing hymns to planting flowers and vegetables in the garden courtyard. I like the food and my room is very comfortable. It's a good place.

My mother suffered from cruelty and abuse during the nine months she lived at Villagio of Carrollton. Her room was infested with biting bugs and she was being eaten alive, but they insisted she was a "carrier" and somehow producing these bugs in her own skin. Ridiculous! When I refused a very poisonous skin treatment (which she did not need), they quarantined her in her bug-infested room for 5 days with NO TREATMENT of any kind, not even anything to soothe her burning, itchy skin. They even took away the aloe vera gel I brought her, so she took cold soda cans from her mini-fridge to soothe her irritated skin. Outrageous! Dermatologist confirmed that bites were from bugs in her environment, but Villagio didn't have the ability to find them. They kept treating for bedbugs, even though doctor and exterminator confirmed there were no bedbugs. After two months of this, my poor mother being quarantined and labeled "contagious" (which doctor confirmed she was NOT), I removed her from the facility. The mental abuse from being isolated and told she was to blame for the bug bites was horrific. The Executive Director, [name removed], should be removed from her position. Her cruelty and uncaring attitude are reprehensible. The Head Nurse, [name removed], actually tried to convince me that steroid cream was like antibiotics and had to be used for a full cycle of a certain number of days, which is the opposite of true. She wanted to keep putting steroid cream on my mother's healthy skin for three more weeks. Crazy! When I reached out to the corporate office, Cappella Living Solutions, for help, their Regional Director of Operations, [name removed], proved himself to be just as obtuse as [name removed] and [name removed], supporting their cruel and ridiculous antics. If you want a caring environment for your loved one where the leadership is smart enough to exterminate bugs and administer medication properly, DO NOT put anyone you know in Villagio of Carrollton or any Cappella Living Solutions property. Other than that, the staff themselves were very kind to my sweet mother. Unfortunately, the diet is pure sugar and carbohydrates. My mother gained about a pound a week--25 pounds in six months--living at Villagio of Carrollton. Dessert after both lunch and dinner, sugary snacks in the morning and afternoon, and too many carbohydrates in general is not a good diet for anyone, much less a senior adult. This facility does not know how to provide a healthy environment for a senior. Period.

We moved our parents in here 2 years ago. It was and is the perfect place for them. This is such a warm, caring and loving place. Daddy had some issues with his asthma and ALZ. The nurse and aides were wonderful just to always stick their head in checking on them. Sadly daddy passed last March and it was like they lost one of their own family members. They have helped mama (96. 3/4 yrs) adjust. Which is not easy when you were married 64 years! Mama is now living with a super sweet lady, who is my son in laws grandmother. They are just the cutest!!!! God ALWAYS has a plan!!! If yoy are looking for a small caring and honest place ....this is it. Never have we had a problem with health issues or with personal items!! Villiago is a blessing to us all!

We toured this place recently and we were very happy with everything we saw. It was clean and had a very warm, friendly, comfortable atmosphere. It's very homey feeling in the best way and all the residents and staff we saw looked happy and healthy. We met with Krystal and she was lovely; very helpful and very sweet. She seemed to know all the residents by name and they all looked happy to see her.

As a family member with a long term resident at Villagio, I find it saddening that people put such tacky reviews to their experience at Villagio. I have seen first hand the way some family members treat and talk to the staff and I can assure you that if I had any job where I was treated and disrespected that badly, then I would quit also. I applaud the staff and management at Villagio of Carrollton and would recommend them to any friend or loved one. If I felt that my loved one was living somewhere that was as bad as some of these reviews claim, I can assure you that I would not let them continue living there, especially for 5 years.

I'm glad I moved my mom here. I was nervous about moving my mom anywhere (other than my own house). I toured tons of assisted living homes and eventually chose Villagio Carrollton because I liked the size of it and how close it was to my house. Even after moving my mom in, I wasn't sure about letting her liver here, but every time I came to visit (which was often), the staff and management were friendly and my mom was happy.

This community has nice, welcoming staff. It is kept clean all around the place. There are activities but my dad has not stayed long enough to be interested. My dad enjoys the food. I would recommend this community to any one who needs assistance.

If I could give these [removed] less than one star I would. Any favorable review you read about Villagio is clearly written by a Villagio staff member. I have a parent who has been a resident of Villagio for more than 5 years. The care at Villagio is minimal at best, [removed] at worst. Hmm, I was never advised of a bed bug outbreak. There is NO engagement for Memory Care residents. Your parent will be placed in front of the boob tube for 24/7. The staff is incapable of resident engagement. A previous review mentions an RN on staff. There has not been an RN on staff in the 5 plus years my parent has been a resident. The staff changes frequently at this facility. They routinely lose medications and will ask you to bring more. Then after you have bought medication out of pocket since your insurance company has already paid for medication, the missing med will miraculously be found. The staff is too inept to keep up with your parent's clothing, linens, etc in spite of the fact that your parent;s name is written in sharpie on EVERYTHING, Save yourself the agony and don't place your parent here unless you enjoy paying for services you don't get. Villagio of Carrollton is no more than overpriced baby sitting. Your parent will be fed the starchiest of foods. They claim they have the Cafe' Fresco. This is a code term for they will open a new can of slop. Villagio's idea of a vegetable is something out of a can, and most likely some sort of brown bean. On that rare occasion when Villagio acquires a caring, intelligent staff member, don't count on them sticking around for long. And why would they, they aren't well treated by management nor adequately compensated so they move on. [removed] NOTE: RN added to staff after review was written

Response from Villagio at Carrollton
June 27, 2018Good morning, I realize it has been a long time since this review, but i would love the opportunity to better understand your experience. I personally interact with this community on a weekly basis and have found the staff to be very competitent and caring, and as a '40-something,' I really enjoy eating the food when I am there. I apologize for your experience a few years ago, but would like additional details so that I can make sure that this doesn't occur again. This site won't allow me to post contact information, but if you would please reach out via the contact tab on our website, I will follow up with you directly. Thank you in advance for your help in improving our community for the benefit of future families and residents, Justin at Villagio
