My mom moved into assisted living at the Watermark after nearly 60 years living in her home, the last 36 years by herself. While it was a major life event for my mom, the Watermark made it an exceptionally smooth transition. They arranged and paid for the move, the movers were efficient and professional, the Watermark's Community Coordinator did an amazing job setting up all her belongings in her new apartment, and the staff all came to greet and welcome her. The rooms are also much more spacious than other places we visited in the area. Mom has settled in nicely and is getting very good care; exactly what she needed. She is taking part in activities and seems to be happy there. If I have one regret, is that she didn't make the move sooner.... Read more

I am so happy to have my mother much closer to me in CT. She was in VA and the distance made it impossible for me to help in her care. From the moment i took the tour and on subsequent visits i had a good feeling about 3030. Mom met [name removed] on FaceTime and saw her potential space on her IPad. Her apt was completely renovated from the floors, new kitchen appliances and bathroom. Once we committed they did everything to make her move so easy. From the movers to staging her belongings; they do it all. Everyone super professional. I bought things online, furniture, tv etc had it sent and they put it all together and in place. When mom arrived everything was unpacked in place and she was thrilled! THey even put snacks in the fridge, flowers on her counter, helped with all her wifi and cable connections. I can't say enough good things about their team. [name removed] and [name removed] were so helpful in getting her settled. She is very happy in her new home.

January 27, 2023Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to write this great review. Our team is dedicated to providing the best services to our residents and they work hard at making every move to the Watermark a positive., stress free, experience . Your mom has made new friends and is participating in the activities. She has been a great addition to our Assisted Living Family!
Over the last 10 tens, my Mom and i visited most of the continuing care communities in Fairfield County... while the "right time" didn't come around until the last quarter of 2022, I always knew Watermark at 3030 Park was the community i wanted my Mom to join. The staff is amazing... when we visited other places the staff would greet residents but didn't know their names or any backstory to share with my Mom. The Watermark staff knows their community, all their names, all their stories and cares deeply about every person within the community. The move was great, again because of staff... they came to my Mom's home to measure and assess all of the things she could fit in her new apartment. On move day, the team came, packed up all her things. They called us around 5:00 that day and said they were ready for us! The team at Watermark set up all my Mom's furniture, pictures, everything and it looked even better than it did in her home... it was pure joy!

I just recently helped moved my elderly parents across the country (from the pacific northwest) into 3030 Park Ave/Watermark. Moving across the country is a monumental challenge for anyone - especially for senior citizens leaving their home of 49 years. [name removed] at Watermark was our point person and I believe was the primary reason the entire process was as smooth as it possibly could be. She was ALWAYS there for any question we had on anything and at any time. She always responded promptly, and always with kindness, compassion and patience - even when we asked the same questions over and over! The rest of the team at 3030 Park have been incredible as well - they unloaded their things and turned their apartment into an instant HOME for my parents. Due to all of the compassion and care that [name removed] and the 3030 Park team provides, my parents are settling in well and are as happy and healthy as they've ever been. I am so grateful.

January 27, 2023Dear Betsy, The pleasure is all ours. Thank you for taking the time to provide this meaningful and positive feedback about moving you mom and dad from Seattle and their home of 49 years to their new home here at the Watermark 3030. Our team is dedicated to creating meaningful relationships and an environment for our residents to thrive. I will share all of your kind words with our dedicated and committed staff! Thank you!
My father passed away suddenly on [date removed], essentially leaving our Mother alone in the house we grew up in for 53 years. She was not able to maintain the house. We contacted the Watermark and worked primarily with [name removed] and then later with [name removed]. They were very thorough, compassionate, diligent, and detail oriented. They worked with me, my brothers and Mom as a team, which was really appreciated. There were flexible, patient, understanding and accomodating. So, far, after 2 months, the transition has gone very well for Mom, as good as could have been reasonably expected. The Watermark is very inviting and the staff and residents are respectful and welcoming. There are many different types of activities, so she is engaged when she wants to be, and has privacy as well when she wants it. The facility is well maintained, clean, and safe. The staff really care about the residents welfare - physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Our Mom is happy, so we are too.

October 13, 2022Dear Daniel, Thank you for taking the time to provide a very meaningful and powerful review about your mom's move to our wonderful community. I can remember the first day your mom moved in and how we were all dancing in the auditorium to the great music from the band and having a great time. Our team is dedicated to creating meaningful relationships and an environment and culture for all of our residents to Thrive. I will surely share your kind words with my team. Again we are so thankful to you!
I would give The Watermark top scores on absolutely everything, they were wonderful. I absolutely loved everything that I saw during the tour, but unfortunately it was too expensive for us.

October 4, 2022Thank you for the positive review regarding your tour of our Watermark 3030 Community. We are glad that you had a positive experience and hope to see you again in the future.
My Dad was in Assisted living at , Watermark . The staff is nice , but it is understaffed and could not attend him right away. He slipped off the toilet and not allowed to use his walker after that. Confined to a wheelchair and his mobility and health declined. Caught viruses from others. In hospital and then to skilled nursing area several times . Finally brought him home with hired aids. He thrived, at last.

September 24, 2020We're sorry to see you aren't satisfied with our community in regard to your dad's stay. Please know we are completely committed to the safety, health and well-being of our residents and would appreciate the opportunity to hear more. Please do not hesitate to reach out to our Executive Director at [removed].
This truly is as good as it gets. I toured the community for my Dad. The Watermark had all the Covid precautions in place to make me feel safe and to ensure their residents felt safe. It truly is a community that has welcoming warm atmosphere with a great culture. The apartments are like no other community we saw. This community has the best fitness center we have seen from all of our tours, they have a pool!!!! Check them out, you will love it as much as we did

The Watermark is a five star all the way. My Dad lives there in a gorgeous apartment with views of Long Island Sound. He is happy, he is safe and no matter what he needs i have peace of mind knowing that his needs are met. Thank you Watermark for giving my Dad a second lease on life.

My parents moved into the independent living section of the Watermark. The apartment was spacious and they assisted in the move. Housekeeping is provided weekly but reminders had to provided for the yearly maintenance (such as carpet cleaning). The monthly billing was an issue-they would provide a general invoice but not an itemized list of expanses. This became a more significant issue when my parents required more services. Many errors were noted and always in the Watermark's favor. My mother and father required stays in the Springs for rehabilitation (at the Watermark). The care for the father was adequate but in adequate for my mother. The staff recommended more aide coverage than other providers recommended. It appeared the Watermark staff was trying to increase use for their financial benefit. The outside providers were correct in their recommendations. I had to move my parent out of the Watermark when he needed assistive living because the nurses at the Watermark made medication errors resulting in the hospitalization (nurses never changed the medications ordered by the doctor over the course of many months even though these orders were emailed and delivered in hard copy). Expired medications were left on the dining table unattended and available to my parent with dementia also threatening their safety. I can recommend the independent level at the Watermark but not the nurse supervision and services and not the assistive living.

My father is in assisted living and the people are nice to him but unfortunately the care is substandard. Watermark is for profit organization. The have a contract with Omni care (owned by CVS), and although he as Medicare part D, we are being charged exorbitant amounts for medicine outside reimbursement guidelines. The same medication is available at at CVS directly for a fraction of the price, but I understand Omnicare and Watermark must have some revenue sharing arrangement. Also, my father gets no attention. They won't let him go to the library or gym, nor will they escort him there. They put on a prison ankle bracelet, and he feel like he is a prisoner. On the plus side, some of the people are nice to him and he likes the food.

Really nice facility, but expensive given it is really an independent living community. I did not get to see the assisted living community, which I am hearing is not great...but will reserve judgement since I did not get to see it :)

I toured this community for my mother, and her needs. The tour went well, and everyone was very kind. The community was well-kept. The staff that I met was kind,an and informative. My questions were answered. It was a good experience, but it wasn't the right fit for my mother.

May 3, 2017Thanks for sharing your positive experience – we love what we do and I’m glad it shows. If it would be possible to give me a call, it would be great to know what we can do differently to make The Watermark the first choice for area seniors. We are focused on constant improvement and your insights would be very helpful. Thank you again for visiting. Sincerely, Kristin Butler, Executive Director Posted on behalf of Kristin Butler.
Our mom lived here in assisted living for one month before we had to move her out. Facility is beautiful, but don't be fooled. Care was substandard: several missed med administrations, forgetting to put her to bed, or bring her to meals on time. Often short staffed, frequent staff turn over. Things did not get better despite our vigilant oversight and trying to get them to get it right. We reluctantly had to move her into another facility which ended up being fabulous. Best decision we made was to get her out of 3030 Park.

March 9, 2017It’s quite unusual for us to have such a short stay – I researched our records and it appears your residency was in 2014. We are committed to resident and family member satisfaction and are very sorry you were disappointed in your Mother’s experience with us. We are unable to comment on the details specifically due to our desire to honor her privacy rights. We hope she is doing very well and if you would like to discuss further please don’t hesitate to contact me. Sincerely Kristin Butler, Executive Director Posted on behalf of Kristin Butler.
This is very well known and established. We chose it because it was smaller, and we thought that would be better. The physical set up was terrific, but there was no oversight. They are very hands off and not engaged, the memory care seems almost like an after thought. The aides while pleasant, but didn't really engage with the residents.

October 16, 2015I’m sorry to hear that your experience with our memory care program was not more positive. Thank you for your feedback. I can assure you that memory care is not an afterthought to us. In fact, many of our caregivers are specially trained as certified dementia practitioners and they take a Virtual Dementia Tour training as well. We have recently appointed a new Program Director and Supervisor of Assisted Living so I hope you’ll give us a chance to regain your trust. I would encourage anyone who is considering memory care for their loved one to visit several options, spend time there, ask questions and maybe try a vacation stay. I will discuss your feedback with staff and review our commitment to excellence. Please rest assured that we never stop working to achieve 100% resident, associate and family satisfaction. Sincerely, Kristin Butler, Executive Director

The Watermark is beautiful, and the food is great. But the assisted living was not a good fit for our Mom. We ended up moving her to another nearby location, which has been fabulous.

The staff at The Watermark is friendly. The facility is pretty clean. I feel the expectations of the family is so much more than they can offer. I feel there should be some extra things that aren't there in the independent living areas, such as handrails in the hallway, just for precautionary reasons.
