Everything was 5 star from the moment we walked into the facility. It has been an absolutely wonderful experience - it has been a God send for my sister. We did not even have to tour anywhere else because it was so perfect. We signed the papers that day and she moved in that night. They were able to give us a great move in deal that we could not pass up. The facility is very clean and they are cautious about covid, there have been very little cases there. We got to sample the food the day we went to tour and it was salmon, it was incredible. The managers live on site at the facility so if you ever have any questions or concerns they are right there. They also serve the meals so you see them daily and they are very hands on. The chef then comes around after dinner to serve coffee and you get to give him feedback on the meals. They set it up so feedback and communication between staff and residents flows nicely. She has loved all of the residents, they all have great life experiences that they love sharing about. She is socializing and doing the activities that they have provided. We could not be more happy and would highly recommend The Oaks to others.... Read more

Response from The Oaks
October 20, 2022Thank you!
I would like to see food options, with less sodium. Other than that, the food is fine and well balanced. They have a corporate chef. They offer a good variety of activities, such as yoga, cards and chair aeorobics. You get your moneys worth, and it is well worth the money. The amenties is a plus, which includes sheets, pillow cases, towels, and weekly housekeeping, which is helpful. Other communities, that I saw seemed to be more in-closed. I chose this place because, I like the open spaces, large hallways, design, and architecture. I also like the dining area, which is very open.

They have been extremely accommodating at this community and very personable with my loved one. My loved one is a quilter and likes to sew and they did not have these activities. Once they found out that my loved one had this interest they set up a whole sewing room and that made my loved one feel great. This community includes all of the meals and the value from what all other things I have seen this seems like the best.

Response from The Oaks
June 7, 2022Hi Paula, thank you so much for your positive comments about The Oaks Gracious Retirement Living!
We fell in love with the staff right away and knew this was the place. They know everyone by name, they know what is going on in their life, and they are just so caring. It is a very Christian atmosphere and we love that. The apartment sizes meet his needs perfectly, he is on the first floor and he does a walk out patio. The food is great, he gets a menu to choose from and the meals are chef prepared. They do have raised beds where the residents are able to garden if they want to. They provide transportation and have a very comfy movie theatre and many other activities to participate in. We have been very pleased and would definitely recommend them to others looking for independent living. The only drawback is that if he needs medical help in the future then he will have to find another place to live because it is completely independent.

This community was huge and they had a lot of activities and more but my loved one felt that there were to many people in this community and that she would get lost. The community was nice and overall the tour was okay but we just did not get that right feeling at this community. The elevator also made us nervous at this community.
The food is really good its just the hours that they serve food, the lunch and the dinner are to close to each other so they only end up eating once due to not being ready to eat yet. Due to this we are buying groceries and that is one down fall when the community provides all that we need.

We toured this community and it was very nice. The staff was great and they answered all of our questions. They were very efficient with the follow-up also.
The staff is very conscious of the residence's needs. Communication between the staff and me is very good. They keep me well informed and return calls back in a timely mannor. I would recommend this community based on my experence

The food is very good there and we really like that all the managers are on site. So they are there all the time and it makes you feel like you can talk to them and ask questions whenever you want. We would recommend the community to others.

I chose The Oaks because it was recommended to me, it was the first place I looked at and I thought it was going to be the best fit. The apartment sizes here are nice, I am in a studio and it is small but big enough for what I need. We get a menu once a week and we have a chef that prepares all of the meals. They also provide transportation which has been nice. Everybody here is very friendly and I am very happy with my choice. I would absolutely recommend to others looking.

The facility is wonderful with several appealing options for living space (Studio, 1 and 2 BR apartments and larger cottages). The amenities and activities including a fitness center, movie room, garden plots and walking club, just to name a few were impressive. The onsite Assistant Managers [names removed] were very warm and welcoming.

They're amazing. It doesn't feel like a hospital setting - it's more of a home setting. It's not depressing when you walk in there like I've seen at other places. The staff are amazing, and I've had no problems with them. They've been very, very patient with my loved one with higher care needs. The apartments are very nice. They look just like a regular apartment. They seem to have quite a few activities posted.

Location good for me. Buildings looked pretty well cared for. Did not like the wall air conditioner units, nor the carpeting all over the apartment except the bathroom. Lunch was ok but nothing special.

My Dad moved into The Oaks in September and we couldn't be more pleased with the entire experience, from our first few visits to check it out until now. The warm and friendly management staff is always available and eager to provide whatever services they can to make my Dad and the other residents comfortable, safe, and happy. We have enjoyed many excellent meals there with my Dad, and he enjoys the comfortable movie theater and well-stocked library. The staff and residents have made Dad feel welcome and at home.

I recently moved my elderly mother to Texas from Arizona. [Name removed] and [Name removed] at The Oaks made this a very smooth and easy transition. I was able to set up a tour with them the very same day that I called. The Oaks is very clean, the staff and residents are friendly, and there is a family atmosphere that makes the residents feel at home. Both couples that manage The Oaks live on site and are always willing to go the extra mile to make sure that you and your loved one have everything you could need in order to live as comfortably and independently as possible. I would definitely recommend The Oaks!

My mom is in her late 90's and moved to The Oaks in Georgetown a few months ago. She was apprehensive about living in any type of facility, associating it with a nursing home environment. She absolutely loves The Oaks! All the staff personally have made her feel welcome, calling her by name, always speaking to her, and quickly learning all her preferences (i.e. coffee, desserts, etc.). The Oaks is always immaculate, bright, safe, and has a homey, cheerful feeling. She loves to go to the beautiful library with the comfortable chairs and double sided fireplace, as well as just downstairs for a weekly hair appointment at the on-site beauty shop, She also enjoys going out to the beautiful patio and garden and stopping to get soft-serve ice cream available 24/7! The meals are delicious! The available home health care staff have become like family to her. They are very good about contacting us about any concerns or issues affecting her. While Mom doesn't personally attend many of the activities, we see lots of fun going on during our visits, as a full schedule of activities exists.

My Mom lived here briefly. The facility was excellent. It looked clean and was brand new when she moved in. In fact, they had just finished building it. She didn’t like the food though. There weren’t many options to choose from and the service was slow. The room she had was decently sized and had a balcony off the side, which I thought was nice. The pricing was reasonable, but overall the location just wasn’t ideal.

We toured this community. We were not happy with the set time of the meals that are served. It did not have the feeling that we were looking for. We did not like the rooms and they need major improvemnts. The restrooms were very small. We would not recommend this community and they need alot of improvemtns. The meals also need alot of improvments. We would recommend that families tour this community for thecare of a loved one.
