Once my Brother arrived a quote apprehensive about the the lifestyle, but quickly became acclimated to the Oaks and enjoys the food and opportunities. It's the least expensive and the best facility. They have five-star meals, in which they serve three times per day. The food is like a five-star restaurant. They offer activities, such as; Bingo, and our favorite is chair volleyball. They also have baseball, and the bean bag game. It has been an absolutely wonderful experience - it has been a God send for my sister. We did not even have to tour anywhere else because it was so perfect. We signed the papers that day and she moved in that night. They were able to give us a great move in deal that we could not pass up. The facility is very clean and they are cautious about covid, there have been very little cases there. We got to sample the food the day we went to tour and it was salmon, it was incredible. The managers live on site at the facility so if you ever have any questions or concerns they are right there. They also serve the meals so you see them daily and they are very hands on. The chef then comes around after dinner to serve coffee and you get to give him feedback on the meals. They set it up so feedback and communication between staff and residents flows nicely. She has loved all of the residents, they all have great life experiences that they love sharing about. She is socializing and doing the activities that they have provided. Other than that, the food is fine and well balanced. They have a corporate chef. They offer a good variety of activities, such as yoga, cards and chair aeorobics. You get your moneys worth, and it is well worth the money. The amenties is a plus, which includes sheets, pillow cases, towels, and weekly housekeeping, which is helpful. Other communities, that I saw seemed to be more in-closed. I chose this place because, I like the open spaces, large hallways, design, and architecture. They know everyone by name, they know what is going on in their life, and they are just so caring. It is a very Christian atmosphere and we love that. The apartment sizes meet his needs perfectly, he is on the first floor and he does a walk out patio. The food is great, he gets a menu to choose from and the meals are chef prepared. They do have raised beds where the residents are able to garden if they want to. They provide transportation and have a very comfy movie theatre and many other activities to participate in. We have been very pleased and would definitely recommend them to others looking for independent living.
