I have told many people about them. They are friendly, caring, mom said the meals are delicious, they have a good amount of activities to choose from. The place is well cleaned and cozy/homey. It seems like a lot of money, but the peace of mind alone is worth it. She loves that she was able to bring her cat!... Read more

The care services are very good. The interaction with the staff has been positive. My loved one loves the food, and enjoys Bingo, and exercises/painting. They also have weekly shopping trips, and outings. Great value for the money. They make people feel welcomed. Overall, they keep me well informed with what's going on with my loved one, and they're very good with keeping the seniors active.

January 5, 2023Thank you so much for your kind words! The Hearth at Castle Gardens teams works very hard, and appreciates you taking the time to leave a review.
The intake person was extremely responsive. She listened to us and answered all of our questions back and forth via email numerous times since we were long distance. She really seemed to take a personal interest in making sure my brother was situated well. It has been an impressive experience. My brother says the meals are good. He likes having his own space but also being able to mingle when he wants to. They give him the freedom to come and go from his room as he pleases. So he has the best of both worlds - he gets to maintain his privacy, and he also gets to socialize when he feels like it.

The Hearth at Castle Gardens is the best place ever. The people are so friendly. The activities are fantastic. There is a little bit of attention to detail that's lacking for how much we're paying, but they always try their best. And the nurses do a good job. It has been a good experience overall.

The staff are very friendly when I talk to them. There was a time that it took a full month for the community to change the linens for my loved one. The community is very nice. I am very impressed with the daily activities, they will even take the residents for a van ride once a week. I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones.

The sales lady we worked with in the beginning was really great, she seemed so sincere and caring and has actually been the only one from this community that followed up with our family. From what the community said they could do, and what they did were two separate things. Our loved one needed full time care pretty much so they advised we move her to the memory care side where she would be able to receive that care. The very first morning our loved one was left alone to bathe and she fell in the shower and broke her hip. When we asked how this happened they said it was because of being short staffed. We understood that but we wish they would of told us in the beginning if they were not able to handle the full time care to be upfront and honest with us.

April 13, 2022Holly, First - I'm VERY sorry to hear you had a negative experience at The Hearth at Castle Gardens. What you described does not meet our care standards. I've shared your review with our Regional VP of Operations for New York, and asked her to investigate further with their clinical services team. - Katie, VP of Marketing & Communications
I toured The Hearth at Castle Gardens and upon first impression it was good; they seemed to have a nice facility. I noticed that their memory care unit was kept completely separate, which raised concerns of whether or not my loved one would receive enough attention. I wasn't sure of how that would work, as we weren't able to see that on the tour. we chose a community that focused on memory care only.

March 4, 2022Thank you for taking the time to leave a review - we appreciate the feedback and are glad you found a good fit during your senior living search.
Everyone is great over at The Hearth at Castle Gardens, we have absolutely no complaints. It is a very clean and homey atmosphere, it feels like a breath of fresh air. The staff are great with communication and always let us know what is going on. They are super involved, there is not a lot of turnover so it feels like family. Some of the staff have been here for years. We feel like they are very transparent and honest with us and they have nothing to hide. As far as financials go, we thought it was going to be too expensive but we were pleasantly surprised at how reasonable it was. If your money runs out they also have other resources. She has adjusted very well and we would absolutely recommend them to other families looking.

February 14, 2022Thank you so much for the kind words! The Castle Gardens team works very hard to run a welcoming, clean, homelike community, and they appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. - Katie, VP of Marketing & Communications
The sales team was excellent and the director is great at sending updates via email. The only negative was that I think that the nursing staff could have followed up better with the family members, they were hard to get a hold of and did not have a sense of urgency and did not keep families up to speed as well as we would have liked.

We have not really been able to get inside the community until recently, but we do think our loved ones are enjoying the meals. Even when they were in quarantine they still had activities going on, they could do small things in their rooms. We do think the apartments are pretty good. Our mother is on the memory care side and her room is small but perfect for her.

I would recommend the community. It was a clean community. I was frustrated due to no initiative by the staff. I wish they would have done more on their own for my loved one.

We absolutely loved Castle Garden's, this place was absolutely beautiful. This community was spotless clean, it was wonderful. The overall value was good, however our loved one was only there for six weeks, and we had to pay that next months care services even though he was no longer there. Some activities they had for the residents were movie nights, they could play catch with each other, and watch nature shows. We never ate there but from our understanding the food was really good. When it came to the care services we were disappointed. Our loved one had fallen there. He had Alzheimer's and ended up needing more attention. We were told that the staff would take him to the bathroom on a regular basis, but when he would urinate himself we were charged an extra fee for every time the staff member had to come clean it up. Once our loved one vacated the building we had to pay for new carpet to be replaced, which we did not expect to happen. In the end our loved one needed more care than what the staff could offer.

I moved to The Hearth August 2017 and it was probably the best move I ever made. There is so many activities to participate in and I have a comfortable apartment to go to for primary. I feel I have made many friends here and all the employees are so friendly and helpful.
