Spanish Oak was wonderful!
The staff was very caring and attentive to my Mother-in-lLaw. They gave her lots of attention and provided for all her needs. Unfortunately, my Mother-in-Law only lived less than a month after we put her in Spanish Oak. She had kidney failure. They were very caring for her until the very end. I will recommend Spanish Oak to anyone who needs to put a loved one in assisted-living / nursing home.

Friendly and Caring Staff
With the care services, our only struggle was with consistency of mom's bath schedule but they were very attentive to her needs. It take a few weeks to establish routine and to get to know the patient. I was never there to see activities during the day, so don't have a basis of evaluation I thought the cost was very fa

My mom has been staying with them for a few months now. She's been adjusting well to her environment and feels safe and at home. Her wellbeing has improved since moving there and she feels that this was a positive change for her situation.

Review for Spanish Oak Assisted Living
Spanish oaks was very friendly n took great care of my mom. They made sure she had bathes 3 times a week. Changed her clothes daily, and made sure she was comfortable. They made sure she ate when she could no longer feed herself. They changed her bedding daily as well. They kept my mom comfortable n resting during her final days on earth. I know if I had put her anywhere else she would not have gotten that good of care as she did at Spanish oaks. I have nothing but good things to say about this facility. When I called A Place for Mom for referrals for my mom when she needed to go to independent living n assisted living y'all were on top of getting me names n places to check out. I couldn't have done it with out your team's professionalism. Y'all were great n I would recommend A Place for Mom for anyone having to go down the road to elderly care for their parents.

I would highly recommend them. They are very attentive. It was clean and modern inside. The tour went well and we felt very welcomed and they took excellent care of my mom. My only disappointment was when she died. There was no call from the owner with condolences. There is a disconnect there. They could do better.

The perfect place for mom.
My mom is getting so much better care & there is always someone available at Spanish Oak Assisted Living community. At [removed] there were times when there was no staff in sight. Everyone is happy! Based on the experience so far, we would recommend this community to other families.

Spanish Oak Review
I would tell others that if your loved one doesn't have memory issues, this may not be the spot. Most folks there were pretty advanced dementia or nearer to the end of their life. I think it would be depressing to be there if not in the same condition. The room sizes here are fine. I don't really have anything to compare it to. The place is definitely not fancy.

Great Experience for My Moms End of life at Spanish Oaks.
It was a good experience. They took very good care of my mother. Their radio of clients to staff was really good. Much better than a nursing home. They made sure my mom, had baths three times a week, and made sure her clothes were changed everyday.

Community Tour
Spanish Oak was geared more toward memory care, and I wanted my loved one to have more opportunities for socializing and activities. But I thought it was very nice. It was a smaller community, which I liked. And it was very light and bright. It seemed to be very clean. I really liked it.

This is an assisted living community, not a nursing home. I don't think it's a very happy place for a number of the residents. It wasn't that they were mistreated at all, but I think they were bored and lonely. Everyday they were moved into the TV room and that's where they sat. I do know a lot of those people were very elderly and there may not have been any activities they could've done. One issue I had with Spanish Oaks was mom passed there and the owners would leave by noon everyday. My mom passed in the afternoon, and I never heard one thing from either one of the owners when she passed. They never called to say they're sorry, I didn't hear a word from them at all, and it has bothered me quite a bit. Mom was there for a little over two weeks before she passed and they got [price removed] for those two weeks, but I never received a card or anything. I thought that was kind of bad business. They were nice as can be when getting mom over there and hospice was there the last several days around the clock pretty much, but once noon came both hospice and the owners were gone. If they would have reached out to say "I'm sorry" - that would have made a world of difference, but to me it felt like "ok she's out, next person in". The day to day staff that I had a lot of interaction with were not like that, they were excellent.

Very Caring Facility
This home does care very much for their residents. I would recommend their facility. It's very clean. With the meals, they give a good variety of food and decent portion sizes. They adapted as my loved one's medical condition got worse, and they helped however they could. The only hesitation I had in the beginning was that most of the rooms were shared, but I understand the value for the money that comes with that.

Smooth Transition
Overall this has been a great experience. The staff communication with the family is fantastic, and they keep us updated on our loved one's care. It would be nice to see more options for activities for the residents. Currently, I see a lot of dominos and coloring books for entertainment. The food is all home cooked in the community's kitchen, and they are willing to work with dietary restrictions for the resident.

Tour of Spanish Oak
We really liked Spanish Oak. It is a smaller facility and it was very nice and clean and smelled good when you walk in. We were impressed with the owners. When we toured they were serving lunch and the food looked good and residents looked to be happy and eating together. It would have been a great fit for mom, it just came down to the location.

A good match for my loved one.
Visiting is open-ended enough that I can be there as much as I want, which is beneficial for my loved one. Visitors are allowed as early as 8 in the morning, all the way up until bedtime. My loved one is happy to see me, and I'm happy to see her. We had an experience at a different community where visiting was extremely limited due to Covid. So at Spanish Oak, I really appreciate being able to see her much as I want. For meals, they have two teams that go at different times, so make sure you're a little early or right on time so you don't' miss your time slot. They're able to accommodate pureed food for my loved one. And for the other residents, I've seen various things like PB&J with bananas, to macaroni with meat sauce, to pasta with vegetables and shrimp - a whole variety of things. Sometimes they have desserts, and other times they don't. They do offer activities, but not consistently. And sometimes they're not focusing on resident capability to participate. I don't think they do enough with activities and could improve on that area. But overall it's a wonderful value. It's reassuring knowing that the rate won't go up for my loved one, so we can afford this for a long time. The manager is quite positive and supportive, and he really listens when you have any type of concern. He doesn't whitewash or cover up or get defensive if things aren't working quite right. He steps in and helps if there any any staff shortages (if someone is sick or has doctor appointment). And they have really good support from various healthcare that comes in on-site to help the clients. The environment is just a very peaceful and pleasant environment for the most part. The staff speak positively and seem happy to be there. They get along with each other and the clients. Every now and again, a client won't be having a good day, and they handle it very well.

A Place for Mom has scored Spanish Oak Assisted Living 9.8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score.
