Excellent

Nothing bad to say. My 92 yr old mother was living at home, still driving and very independent until she fell down 13 steps backwards breaking her neck and two ribs. She spent her 93rd birthday in skilled nursing and I had to find an assisted living facility fast that could handle her care. I was referred to Southwest Commons and it turned out to be a godsend. Everyone I worked with was excellent and patient. Her move in day got moved up due to the skilled nursing facility releasing her early. Southwest got her room furnished and ready in a day and transported her in a snowstorm. The facility is beautiful, and my mother was very happy there. They kept her busy, she made many friends and told me she could stay there the rest of her days. The place was clean, the food was very good, and the staff was excellent. My mother has since passed but I feel good that I found a place she was comfortable in up until she passed on. I would definitely recommend Southwest Commons.... Read more

YES BEWARE!

At first, we were happy with the care my dad was receiving. The staff seemed super helpful and friendly and my parents were making nice connections. My parents had mentioned things here and there as they settled in which made you question the care they were really receiving. Then one day while visiting I realized just how lazy the staff was. Due to quarantine, we were not able to get into the facility. My parents received a new chair for their small apartment. The old chair then however sat in the middle of their room for OVER 3 weeks!! When visiting I asked to speak to the manager [name removed] since they had asked several people to have it removed. She politely said she didn't know "how to help us". Needless to say, we started our journey to find another facility.

Beware

At first we were very happy with the care For our mother, but due to many changes with administration and the care givers the care changed. We found out they we’re giving our mother a large amounts of anxiety medication 3x a day which made her sleep all the time so the residents needed less care. We didn’t not approve the medication it was prescribed by the house doctor. This was heartbreaking to us, we loved her very much. Our mother passed away a year, we didn’t know until she had to moved into hospice. BEWARE and be careful

[Removed], very pleasant. Smaller rooms compared to what we have seen but larger 1 bedroom floor plan will work. Didn't see many residents out and about. Close to Dr. [Removed] office and CC if and when Dr. needs to be changed. Van is accessible anytime when available to visit [Removed]. Mom and Dad would schedule. No gym or work out area. Can give own meds; they provide housekeeping and linen changes; can pay extra for laundry. If higher level of care is needed in the future; there is no need to have to move; Nursing care comes to them. Dr.[Removed] is PCP on staff, but van takes patients to Dr. Waters. Satellite TV a concern; not cable. Offers Aging in Place

Fantastic Community

Southwest Commons has been a fantastic experience for us. The staff are encouraging, detail oriented, dutiful, and very good at following through with doctor's orders. They have completely cleaned up my loved one's skin issues. His skin looks healthier than I've seen in years. The food is very good, and my loved one eats very well here. The community is spotless as well, It's like a home, it's very well-kept. I can't say enough good things about this community. We are definitely very pleased.
