We would have given the community a 5 after we moved in, but they are now having some issues with the staffing. The services have been great, our loved one's apartment is great, and the people are very kind. There are plenty of activities inside the complex, but because of the pandemic they have stopped the day trips for now. They did recently have a big holiday party outside, and it was wonderful. The activities director has done an amazing job. Overall our loved one has said the food is good, but sometimes the meat is tough and hard to cut and chew. But the staff will help our loved one cut the meat with no problem. Our only issue is just with the trouble with the staffing members, but overall it has been a good experience.
The staff members at the community are really great and considering covid we still have some activities. They bring in live entertainment, and through parties for various events. One time we had an Italian party with Italian food, and we also have move nights. Before covid other residents told us the amount of activities they offered were incredible
The staff really do care about the residence. They want to make sure the residence are thriving not surviving. They have on-site medical staff for most of the residence needs. They have a swimming pool and a gym with classes. I would definitely recommend this community to others
It is really a nice place. The people are friendly. When we first moved in the food was really good it has steadily gone downhill. We are moving out because to the food. Many others have the same issue with the food. The room sizes are good.
Mom moved into independent living at first. Everyone was kind and professional with smiles. So helpful with all our questions. Mom’s dementia started to decline after 6 months, then we had to move her to memory care during this trying time for all (coronavirus), There my Mother has loving and caring staff , which I refer to as walking angels! I am please with all the caring and loving nurses and staff that work there!
Love this community! Everyone really cares about the people who live there. My mom has so much fun in activities and loves the exercise class and music. Our family couldn't be happier with the choice we made!!
Sumerby has it all. Very pleased with our new home. Very helpful and friendly staff.
Amazing community! My mom loves it there and couldn't be happier. She loves her apartment, the staff is very engaging. She loves all the activity and music they do, and has made a lot of friends. We are very happy and the best part is having her close!
The physical surroundings are still new and provide pleasant backdrop. There are adequate staff who strive to meet the needs of residents.
I asked sales lady if they washed clothes and she said yes.I had to wash moms clothes every week but two out of five months.Front desk man called me a piece of shit service person.Manager and sales lady did not care to talk to you, they just hide in their office when you try and ask for help with clothes that they would not wash.Short ON staff and staff that was rude and only cared to talk about where your payment is.A piece of [profanity removed] place and a big waste of money.See if they even have a clean clothes washer and person to do it before believing a word sales people say.Manager who could care less about your problems.Just wanted your money. SALES LADY WHO LIES FOR A LIVING.
Called a [language removed] by front desk man.Had to wash cloths every week but two out of five months.Manager hides in office for a week when trying to get the help we payed for.Stay away from the low class people who run this place.Where are the police because these people need to be arrested for the abusive language they use while sitting on there [language removed].
Beware of the memory care wing. Use of "pharmaceutical restraints" is a common practice -- happened to our loved one. Caregiving staff is grossly untrained and uncaring -- turnover is constant. Management is most concerned with shirking responsibility, while "contracted" nurse practitioners dole out heavy psychiatric meds to dementia sufferers. This resulted in a fall and injuries for our relative. These people and this company care about profit not people. They paint a pretty picture, but the care is so sub- par. Also have a problem with bed bugs.
We have enjoyed the heated pool, our balcony, the restaurant style fine dining and the new construction with granite and other high end material. The flexible meal plan in our Independent living is great and the activities are numerous. We would have liked a storage unit, but the huge closets made up for that. I am working with Somerby to find a place for "Shop 101" so we have a place to fix things that are broken.
The residents and staff and friendly and a pleasure to live with! The surroundings are clean and pleasant. This is my home and have no plans of ever leaving!
Somerby is a wonderful place to live. The food is good, the new friends are great and the apartments are nice, very nice. I feel blessed to live here.
This is a beautiful facility, probably the best around, and the staff is second to none. It has been open for approximately 16 months. As with any new facility, it has experienced growing pains, especially in the area of the food and dining service. Much improvements have been made, however, and everyone involved continue to work hard to make it even better. Management, staff, residents and the residents representatives work very hard to insure the overall operation remains at a high quality level by constantly reviewing outstanding items, and bringing them to completion.
