The community has some issues. I think they are upfront and friendly; however, they are short staffed and not as cleans as the community could be. The maintenance is lacking overall. The staff act like they are concerned; however, you have to follow up several times before a resolution can be made. The food isn't good in the quality and taste. There are activities available for the residents to participate in, if they choose. They will give the residents Solstice Dollars to spend at a store for participating.

I was not a big fan of Solstice. I thought it was too cold feeling and it had a very modern atmosphere. It was just not the right fit for me.

My loved one really likes the community. They have a lot of good activities here. The staff are good to work with. My loved one doesn't like the food sometimes. The food taste and variety could be improved for the residents. Some of the activities available include shopping, exercise classes, movies, and more for the residents to chose from.

I am not really happy with the activities that they have to offer at this community. They have activities like board games, and a pastor that comes in to speak with the residents. The meals are great but I just have certain dietary restrictions that makes it hard for me from time to time. This community is efficient, not luxurious but it is efficient. Solstice also does not have a good transportation system for doctor appointments and so forth. My previous community wouldn't hesitate to take us places; no matter the cost, distance or time of day. They would even wait outside until we were finished. At this age, we do have medical issues that need solving sometime. These things just sort of pop up, they aren't always planned out. I understand that each organization is different, but that is still something that is very important to me. It would be more convenient to be transported directly through my community, rather than having to call on an outside friend or family member.
The place is bright and cheery! The apartments are spacious and are reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The residents are also friendly and want to get to know you. It’s not assisted living but they have an outside service which is here 24/7 that perform daily living tasks if you can’t do them. They encourage participation in a variety of activities by rewarding you with a Solstice dollar every time you participate in one. These can be spent at the company store. They have professionals come such as a beautician, a podiatrist, and live entertainers for Happy Hour. There are outings, trips to Walmart and Target. They will transport you to doctor appointments on certain days. I am sure I am leaving out something but In case you can’t tell, I am really happy here!

The meals and dining service could use improvements, that is where we are not getting the best value. It is restaurant style so sometimes the residents are waiting awhile, and sometimes a pretty long time. The services can be slow and other times the quality of the meals are just not good.
Not a good fit for my loved one.

This community was very nice and they were very friendly people, it was larger and walking would have been an issue for my client and her loved ones. The laundry and all the amenities would have been to far from her reach.

Friendly staff, residents and grounds were nice. Sort of unprepared for my visit...no brochures on hand, carpets somewhat dirty and entrance needed tp be swept.

We have had trouble with the staff from the time we moved in. The people that run it aren't very nice. My loved one enjoys living there and has made a lot of friends. If you try and request anything it will take days for the community to respond. The woman we spoke with on the phone wouldn't go check on our loved one, even though we were having trouble getting a hold of them.

We chose Solstice Senior Living at Fenton because it was closest to me for the best price and it was very clean. My dad is in a 750 sq ft apartment, but they do have other choices on sizes due to what you need. My dad seems to like the food that they serve. The best part about the community so far has been the friendliness of everyone here.

Good location close to our family and St Clair Hospital where my doctors are. The food is good. Everything is just the way we like it. I was an Ombudsman for Skilled Nursing for many years and knew I did not want to move to Skilled Nursing. Solstice is a good option for us. We have no complaints. I would highly recommend Solstice to anyone.

My sister is very happy as I am with Solstice Senior Community. It is located very conveniently for shopping ease. Everyone is very nice always greeting residents.
We met w/ [name removed] & spent 90 minutes there. Let’s just say my Mom “felt like home” there. We will definitely consider this location, especially since it’s in Fenton (an area we know well), plus it’s next to St. Clare Hospital too.
This place needs to get shut down! They advertise as independent living, but there are people in there who need to be in nursing homes. But most likely due to greed, people are dying in this facility in a horrible manner. I have personally witnessed residents covered in there own feces who can’t even get themselves out of bed and have no way of cleaning themselves. Because this place is an independent living center, they have inadequate care. Some residents are confined to their room with no access to emergency services...but they pay there rent til they die a sad neglected death. After 7 pm anybody can come and go as they please...only a few cooks and two nursing aids on staff; no security or nurses ever on staff at this place. The majority of the residents need assisted care at minimum, but due to this company greed they keep them as long as they pays there bills, or taxpayers pay them. Don’t believe me? Stop by any day after 7 pm and talk with the residents yourself.
Nice place. A bit too far for us. Staff seemed friendly. Grounds were very nice.
