Dear Friend, Thank you for your interest in Franciscan Woods, an Assisted Living Community owned and operated by St. Francis Hospital. We are committed to providing a safe, secure home-like setting with a focus on hospitality, wellness and resident satisfaction.

Franciscan Woods is a community with 45 private units located on Williams Road. We believe that you will find the extensive range of services and amenities is in keeping with the tradition of St. Francis Hospital, where exceeding our customer's expectations is our standard. Our dining room, under the direction of our chef, provides the finest culinary delights. If the resident's taste leans more toward literary or technical pursuits, our library and computer room offers a serene, quiet setting to enjoy a good book or access to private email and the Internet.

Participation in daily exercise classes or social activities rounds out the physical and social interaction for our residents, while our on site worship center affords any resident the opportunity to fulfill the spiritual needs of their lives. Stay away

Don’t move your loved ones here. They will not be cared for as promised or expected. What matters are we here? Chili cook offs for managers. What doesn’t matter here? Residents getting showers (only 1 shower given by staff in two months and that was bc I asked for it. Not one notification to me), having toilet paper (none for two days except what she found by walking the halls and grabbing scrap rolls) or medications being properly dispensed when we left we discovered she was missing two of her prescribed medications and her blood pressure was off the charts for the first time in years). Stay away.

They turn a blind eye

I would tell others to look elsewhere and not use this community. The community has bed bugs and we had to throw away all of her stuff. We were not told about these issues I found out while we were moving my loved one. I would not recommend this community. The medical staff is fantastic, but the director I have not liked our interactions. The communication between the staff and the family was not good at all. I have requested our loved ones' medical records 3 times and we still have not received them.

Do not go there!

This place is not good! We had my father in there for about 18 months. At first everything was good and we had no issues. Then Covid hit and everything changed! The Executive Director left the facility, as well as the Office Manager. When that happened, almost all communication ceased! We were visiting my dad 4 times a week before covid hit. Then we could not visit at all. We could not go in the facility. It was abysmal! We picked up my dad last week and we were shocked at what we saw! My dad had cuts on his face and when we asked what happened, all they would say is he fell. Then we found out he was not staying in his room because they had bed bugs. Turns out the facility has been battling bed bugs for a while. They threw out my dad's bed and sofa and NEVER contacted us. Save yourself the heart ache and stay away!

I would tell others we did not have a good experience. Do not move a loved one here unless they can completely take care of themselves and be independent.

Lack of staff and lack of technology

The cleanliness stood out to us in the beginning, it was one of the better smelling communities we looked at. The rooms they provide are about average in size, and from our understanding the food seems to be well prepared. However, this community is lacking staff members, they don't seem to have enough for the number of residents there.

If I only knew

The director was very disorganized and made promises that she couldn't keep. They said they would provide levels of care and they did not. The did not deliver on any promises made. The staff were really good but that were very understaffed. It was pure hell there for my mother.

Not For Us

The staff at Savannah Grand seem competent enough. The sales department over promised and under delivered. They indicated they could care for my mother, who has moderate dementia and sundowners. That turned out not to be the case. Her room was dark and dreary, the painters had spattered paint on the new carpet and bathroom floor, and the toilet leaked around the base and was poorly caulked. The bathroom vanity needed replacing, also. There were not enough outlets in either room. The “activities director” had very few activities and what they did have was poorly attended by residents. I did advise staff there that I would give it 30 days to see if it would work. We took my mother home after only a few weeks. Not the proper placement. We wasted valuable resources. I should have gone with my gut, which told me this was not the place for my mother. [Name removed]
