Extremely disappointed.

Overall, my family feels deceived and disappointed with this facility. Yes the rooms are nice and the facility itself is appealing. They advertise that they treat you like family, but that wasn't the case for us. I noticed that residents were almost always in their rooms, even at mealtimes. Which should have told me something. It felt very strange. Both of my parents were here, on two different units. Mom was here first and then we transferred dad here from the hospital. He had an infection that still needed care and we were aware of that. But it wasn't handled properly. I was there to visit and advocate for them every single day. As dad started to decline, eventually even cognitively, we questioned if he needed to go back to the hospital because the infection was getting worse. It took two weeks for the Physician assistant to finally say yes, and by that time it was too bad. We trusted their judgement and shouldn't have. When we first brought dad in, they told us they would make sure to get mom over there to visit him and even arrange to have meals sent to his room for both of them, but that didn't happen. One day, I went to visit and mom wasn't in her room. I went to dad's room and she wasn't there either. His roommate told me that she was just there, but decided to go to the library for a book since dad fell asleep. She ended up getting lost and they found her lost at the back door. She was banging on it trying to get back in. A couple days later I had left after a visit. I was still sitting in my car in the parking lot and noticed mom standing at the front door, lost and knocking to try to get back in. I understand everyone is understaffed right now. And maybe mom also needed a higher level of care. But no one ever suggested that to us or even took the time to notice it. She was getting lost trying to navigate from her side of the building to dad's and no one helped her like they said they would. Dad passed at the hospital and we decided to bring mom home with us. They have a 30 day notice policy and we had already paid for mom's full 30 days. Within that time, when I went to get her belongings, they had already cleaned out her room and bagged up her belongings. Not only that, but things were missing. Nothing of value, but things I had purchased for her apartment. Why did we have to pay if they already cleaned out her room? And where was the rest of her stuff? They also didn't give me her medication with her belongings. I had to go back and get it. I'm working with corporate now, but it's just a mess. They knew the situation with both of them and portrayed it as if this place would be a good fit for them and that they could provide the levels of care that they both needed. At the end of the day, they could not and did not. I just want others to know that these things happened and could happen again.... Read more

Tour of Paramount

I toured Paramount Senior Living and I didn't want my brother to go there. When looking for a community I had three criteria's; 1. ability to accommodate my brothers level of care, 2. great food because he's picky and needs to gain weight, and 3. a good location. Paramount reminded me of transitional living with institutional food. It was a large assisted living facility and he would've been the highest care level they provided at the time. I wasn't impressed with the community. It was an hour away, and the price was almost double what he's paying at [community name removed]. A big factor for us was the price and food selection. The fact that it was an hour away didn't help, but the food and price crossed it off the list.

Fine living up in the mountains

Paramount senior living is a good value that is reasonably priced. This community has good value for the amount that they charge. They have activities like games, dominoes, bingo, crafts and hobbies, social hour, and recently resumed doing bus trips to different places around the community. There is lots to pick from to keep busy and socialize at this community.

A Nice Place to Be Taken Care of When You Can't Take Care of Yourself

I believe they are a little short staffed. The community is fine. The only problem is the location isn't convenient to visit. There is a nice view from all the resident's rooms. I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones.

My Loved One Has Been Happy and Secure, But Bored

The community is very good at keeping the families updated with communication about the pandemic and the residents. There aren't a lot of activities for the residents to choose from to participate in.

Comfortable environment and friendly faces

We looked at a lot of facilities and we chose this one because I had visited another woman I knew here. It is a beautiful setting and backs into the trees which really stuck out to me, it was very comfortable and more home-like. My husband was at another facility and could no longer take care of him so we moved him to Paramount senior living because they could better care for him here. They were very accommodating to his food needs as well. It is a smaller community so the care is more individualized. My family came from all over and they always made special accommodations for us to visit him. I would recommend to others looking.

SO Grateful to have found Paramount Senior Living

My Brother and Sister-in-Law entered Paramount Senior Living the week before Christmas, out of medical necessity, one in Skilled Nursing and one in Personal Care. From the first day, the entire staff has been helpful, kind, respectful, and very caring. My in-laws progressed so well that they were able to room together within 6 weeks, thanks to the excellent nursing care they received. Paramount considers where the resident can best be cared for while at the same time considering where the resident can best be free to live a high quality of life. The staff have all extended themselves to support my relatives in a very human way. It has been a very successful transition for them and they plan to stay a Paramount Senior Living.
