My experience living at Ocean Shores Apartments

I must first start out by saying the first 2 years of me being a resident at this property was wonderful. However, when on site management changed, I believe the original Ocean Shores philosophy went from great to bad. It is my opinion Fifty five plus tenants are not valued as intelligent, wise, intuitive, knowledgeable, smart thinking and we'll informed adults. In my opinion, in many situations it's the complete opposite. Lease agreements that were signed by all residents (as far as I know ) are repeatedly broken and I believe they are not enforced to keep Ocean Shores safeguarded, healthy, sound, risk free, maintained and smoke free. It is my opinion residents are not valued adults but looked upon as " Preschoolers, babies and kindergarten children ". I found it best to deal with any issue/s through an email. This ensured me that I would always have a copy of any interactions with management. I learned the hard way to not ask for copies of all paperwork that I signed, reported or was reported to me, discussed or passed in. I found it very hard to get a copy of the yearly recertification paperwork I had to sign without seeing it first. Finally after stating it's the law, I received it. I agree with [Removed] that the office is not always open and I found the answering machine on most of the time when trying to contact management/office. I got tired of having one elevator always breaking! Very frustrating. The last review of Ocean Shores I found most FRUSTRATING is management does not adhere to their own written rules which is part of the resident handbook and lease.

The Good, Bad and Ugly

97-unit complex is 3+ years old. (1) dirty kitchen cupboards, appliances, floor. I cleaned before using. Bathroom o.k. Had been replaced. Can use only one appliance at a time. Fuse blows lights. Hard to prepare hot meals. Refrigerator makes strange loud annoying noises. (2) On-site management not always accessible, as stated in written Rules & Regulations residents' manual. Slow to respond to problems; i.e., my visitors could not contact me from lobby for over a month. Received "congratulatory" e-mail with personal information meant for another new incoming resident. Sent back to Asst. Mgr. who said she would correct the error and redirect it. (3) The monthly rental cost $1072 is affordable for me, but adapting to lifestyle changes is a work in progress for me. I find residents to be most friendly and pleasant, and I hope to partake in the many activities of interest in the future.

Very impressed--would be a great choice (in my mind) for mom and dad. Would have given 5 stars if more organized activities and wellness center hours were available.
