Don’t come to this rehab it’s the worse one around. Not even 1 stars but I had to.
The food here is intolerable, no one checks your vitals or even act like they care about you. I saw a nurse leaving with a huge tub of wet ones to take home. My bed is hard and broken and so is my tv. just like everything else in this room. I want a response from someone with authority. I see how far my complaint got!!!!! Don’t come here you’ll regret it just like I do. Humana home plan beats this joke of a place. And I have that plan. Go back to training new people who might care about others in this world!!!

Where is the care?
Horribly understaffed and patient neglect at many different times of the day. Unbelievably awful nurse to patient ratios too. Covid just makes visiting worse but the care is well below expectations. When my Aunt [name removed] passed away we didn't even get all of her belongings just some things. It's not as if she had that much to begin with. Now the family has friend that use to attend out church and she is there. I can only hope for a change in things for the better for our friend.

Review of Oak View Rehabilitation Center
We're happy with them so far. They've been great and the staff is very attentive. Oak View is just wonderful. My loved one likes the therapy. He seems to be making improvements. The quality of care is very good. They go out of their way to check on him. They're very friendly, they go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable. You walk in and they always say hi and are so nice and cheerful. I came with a group of visitors the other day and the staff was so nice, and happy to see all of us, and make sure to bring in chairs for all of us to sit in. It's a happy looking place. It's been redecorated and is a very nice looking place. The place is cheerful and there are cheerful sayings written on the wall. It's clean. I brought an elderly visitor with me the other day and he said that this is the nicest place he's ever seen. The men in there all have their military hats on. My father is a veteran and didn't have his hat when he arrived. I brought it the next day and all the residents immediately bonded with him and started sharing stories. It was so wonderful. The meals I've seen have looked fine and he ate all of them. He fell once and they called me right away to let me know. The hospital recommended Oak View and I couldn't be happier with them and our experience.

Review of Oak View
My loved one has been here several times. The staff is very professional and they understand his mean behavior. They started therapy but it is up to him. He is very weak and fragile and he does not want to be pushed so they do not force him anymore. I have not had any problem with the staff, they are friendly. The male supervising nurse was good at answering my questions. The cleanliness is much better this time. The first time there was an odor but there is no odor this time and fewer patients in the hallway. I rarely hear from them, I am having a hard time reaching the social worker and she has not called me back. I have been trying for two to three days.

Dad has gained weight and he is eating. I was surprised! He looks forward to the meals! He is always clean and the staff has all been nice. They've been really good to my dad. I spend a lot of time with the staff in the kitchen. It's always clean when I go there and my dad's room is always clean. I'm really surprised by the cleanliness because most Long Term places smell, but there's no smell there. They are really good at communication. I went to his care plan the other day.

It is very clean. My loved one hasn't complained at all about the nursing care so that's a good thing. The meals have been great during the week and I am not sure if there is a different cook on the weekends or what, but the meals are not as good over the weekends.

From what I have seen it is great but I think my loved one is still going through the transition. This can be hard on him losing his independence but all in all, they are doing a really good job there and he likes it. He mentioned that he doesn't like the nurses. They do a good job with the cleanliness and have been keeping up with his room nicely. They are feeding him what he needs to have and I think this is one of the things he is getting adjusted to. This is someone that would eat a hamburger every single day. I have told him and the staff agreed with me that if he is not liking something he needs to speak up so the staff can make the adjustments for him. I think once he learns he can do this, the meals will improve for him. They answered everything I have asked.

about Oakview Rehabilitation Center

A Place for Mom has scored Oakview Rehabilitation Center 1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
